When traveling domestically in the USA, do I need to do anything proactively if the need for a 911 call arises, related to location? I assume that the GPS location in my iphone will connect me to the correct local emergency provider? In other words, if I am nowhere near my billing address and dial 9-1-1 I want to be assured that I'm not calling my home emergency provider, but rather the first responders at my actual location. I guess what I'm trying to ascertain is whether 911 call location is based upon actual location of device, or billing address of device.

GoSeeDoRV, that's a great question, and we're happy to shed some light on your concerns regarding 911 call routing. When you dial 911 from your device, your call will automatically be routed to the current local emergency response center in your area. This way, you can rest assured that 911 calls will always be routed properly. We hope this information provides additional peace of mind.
