Verizon Wireless is currently offering a promo which is a "buy one get one free" on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. This promo is supposedly only for those who will be adding an additional line. So current line you buy a phone for and then get the free one only if you add a new line. My issue with this is as follows: Those details are not stated on their mobile website. Only the desktop website. Not even a fine print that says "Click here for details". All of which I have pictures of thanks to screen shots. When I was informed about the requirements of the promo, I asked if they could go ahead and make an exception seeing as their requirements are clearly not stated on the mobile site. They refused. I asked to speak with a supervisor in Customer Care. Got one named Brian and he said that only the Telesales Department or Corporate could make any exceptions. Brian then supposedly was transferring me to Telesales when he really just sent me back to the main menu. I called back and got told the same thing by another Customer Care Rep. Finally, I got transfered and the tellasales associate literally laughed and said he was 100% sure that there was nothing he could do and that it was indeed an issue for Customer Care. He then transfered me back to CC where I spoke with an associate named Natalie. I asked her if she could simply transfer me to a manager, not a supervisor. She asked what the issue was and I kindly told her that I had already told the story to so many people, that I would rather tell her manager as there is nothing she could do for me. She told me that *ALL* of the managers where in a meeting. I said ok, I'll wait. She said that I would be waiting a very long time as these meetings can last for several hours. I then just asked for her supervisor. She asked if I could validate my info and explain the issue (2nd time now) and I again kindly asked to just be transfered and she yet again refused! She continued to  refuse to transfer me until I "validated" my info and explained the problem. I said that I would validate my info to the supervisor once she put them on the phone. She again refused to transfer me and said her supervisor Sam told her that she had to at least validate me before transferring me! Said that it was required no exceptions.. I finally gave in and then asked to speak with Sam. All the sudden Sam was gone....Apparently he had just left.... She finally put me through to a different supervisor. His name was Scott and he also refused to take care of the customer and rectify the situation. He gave me corporate's number and told me to take my issue up with them! I asked to speak with a/his manager (his boss) and he told me that they had all left for the day and could have one call me with in 48 hours.

***But wait....didn't Natalie tell me over a recorded line that they were there, but in a meeting that could last for hours....? Pretty sure that was a lie.***

And to top it all off, I found out that I was misinformed abut the monthly payment of the new device with a certain discount of which 3 different Customer Care Associates at three different times told me today....over recorded phone lines! Wanting to known more about the pricing was my whole reason for making that initial first call. I was thinking about switching to T-Mobile and wanted to know who had the best deals....Absolutely crazy and ridiculous! I will be calling Corporate first thing in the morning. I've got every single executive's office number thanks to Google as well as their main complaint line Thanks to Supervisor Scott.....especially seeing as there are 3 recorded phone calls proving that I was (as they call it) misinformed. Well misinformed or not it's Verizons responsibility to honor what their Associates say.

At the end of the day, this promo is not false advertising, since the terms are there, albeit not as totally obvious as they could be -- and naturally, the BOGO is what people see and focus on.  The terms to get the "free" phone on this particular promo are to open a new line of service for that phone and keep it active for 6 months....

Based on all the confusion and uproar this is causing, and knowing promos come and go, I'm figuring another promo will come along soon with different terms, whether it be BOGO, or extra data, or whatever.  In store reps, and authorized resellers are notorious for misrepresenting (or simply not understanding) the real terms, so yeah, it's hard to know what the bottom line is going to be by talking to reps.  And Verizon covers itself by the This agreement and the documents it incorporates form the entire agreement between us. You can't rely on any other documents, or on what's said by any Sales or Customer Service Representatives, and you have no other rights regarding Service or this agreement.

Good luck on your recovery.

Sorry, in 2 clicks (actually finger presses) on my phone I could see the terms very clearly .I think to the terms are bogus, but you don't have a case.

On Phone, bring up verizonwireless.com - mobile web site comes up.

See the Samsung BOGO, see "Learn More" press on that (#1 finger press)

scroll down a bit and see "Find out how" press on that (#2 finger press)

Voila - screen I posted

I thought I was going to have to hunt far and wide based on your multi-paragraph complaint. I was beginning to see your point. I wanted to see if you are correct. But when I found it in literally 15 seconds, it was sorry - no case.

Yeah so basically I found what you were talking about but it's actually 2 swipes, finger press, finger press....but you are right, it is there buried. Still doesn't explain the false info I was given today by 3 different associates nor does it excuse the way I was treated. I may not be able to get one free but I should still get the monthly device pant I was quoted three different times....

It is not that buried. You missed it. No case.

Besides, they have you on this - the last paragraph of the agreement you sign:

This agreement and the documents it incorporates form the entire agreement between us. You can't rely on any other documents, or on what's said by any Sales or Customer Service Representatives, and you have no other rights regarding Service or this agreement.

I am not saying I agree one iota with them . Just you have no case and they got you by the ...

What is the monthly device part? What were you told and what can you get?

They don't have me by anything....no contract means I can move to another

company at anytime. And they are responsible if I'm told that they will

give me a certain discount if I buy the device. They are bound to that at

that moment. Trust, I don't think you are as legally smart as you think you

are.....I was once told that I would be given a free IPhone 5s due to some

extreme issues I was having. I later found out that they legally were not

allowed to do such a thing due to their contract with Apple. Needless to

say I ended up on the phone with corporate and they reviewed the call. They

tried to offer everything but the phone and I turned it all down. Told them

that I wanted what was offered over the recorded line and if they didn't, I

would simply hire an attorney and handle it that way. They actually told me

that they needed to speak to their legal department and would get back to

me. Next day I got a call saying the IPhone was in the mail. This is not my

first rodeo with Verizon. I simply want what was promised. No more no less.

But you are right about the false advertising. No case there.

Well good luck. The frustration for me would not be worth a phone, not to mention the time costs.

Good chat, thanks - kept to the facts, nothing (too) personal -- you did jab I am not as legally smart as I think I am. - I don't think I am legally smart, just more on the logic side, so not totally wrong. Truly, good luck. W

Well unfortunately for me I have nothing but time because I am recovering

from spine surgery. What's right is right though. And I do stick to the

facts. When you copy and paste a legal part of Verizons website and try to

interpret the legal wording without being an attorney and tell someone that

based on what you see, they have no case....Well you get the point. Logic

would tell me not to comment on something you truly don't know or

understand 100%... Good chat indeed though and thank you for pointing out

that spot on their website. It (at least for me) was not located where it

should have been nor was it in plain sight...

-Best wishes

not as totally obvious as they could be pretty much says it all. That simple fact is Verizon doesn’t act in good faith with it’s customers. It is sad because they really do not need to be deceptive to be extremely profitable. We all know they are doing it now and many will be jumping to other cheaper carriers because of deceptive phone deals that really are not deals.

Where did you perform these "finger presses"? Because ony mobile site, it says nothing about the promo until you are looking at the list of smart phones. There is no option to click on it for details. I've tried several times.
