This appears to be a systemic problem b/c it’s recurring and I cannot be the only one!
New Customer. Dropped my iPhone14 Pro 5/27 & cracked back losing cel connection for calls. Texting OK. Shopped online cel providers & promos all 5/28 and at 3PM had VZ cart complete to switchover from AT&T with new iPhone15 incl new line + 2 BYOD lines + new iWatch9 incl line + Home Internet + ins plan + 3 streaming svcs. I called VZ just to confirm a promo and we chatted. Then got talked into placing order with her. She couldn’t access my cart so had to build the order manually. Took 1.5hrs! When she hit submit it timed out. Took another 2hrs. Paid $125 incl $20 for phone/watch to arrive next day by noon. Hung up at 7PM.
5/29 4PM nothing. Watch in transit, phone not even shipped. Call Verizon & supv approved to p/u phone in store. Uber to store, wait, get phone but she can’t port over # b/c it’s a “pending order” & told me to call Corp for override. Call & rep ports # over. Store then says still can’t give me phone b/c it’s a deliv order & I was given wrong info. Now the Corp rep can’t port my number back over to AT&T so lost my texting ability on broken phone. Corp rep assures me devices on way & will arrive by noon Monday. Leave store 7PM & Uber home.
7/1 FedEx & UPS apps say out for delivery (devices sent sep). By 3PM, I call them. BOTH say sender requested shipments be returned to warehouse. I call around about getting my old phone repaired then call VZ at 6PM. Rep advises me go to store next day.
7/2 see emails saying Order cancelled & ineligible for Promos. Dog just home from surgery so can’t leave & Uber to store. AGAIN. Call VZ to escalate. Supv spends 2+hrs placing Order all over again. Only get through half of it so she’ll call tomorrow. No refund yet but pay another $100+ although she “generously” waived 1 of 3 connection fees & comped next day shipping. On phone only.
7/3 noon she calls. Phone label UPS created, not shipped. Suggests may still arrive by 8pm. Another 2hrs wasted on call. Says may not get iPhone holiday 7/4 but no later than 12PM 7/5. Oh, and she input for me to still receive the June promos but can’t promise anything. She’ll follow up next week.
Today 7/4 UPS app says delivery expected by 7PM on 7/6!!! I call UPS & advised it was shipped via ground.
SERIOUSLY??? How many hours have I sacrificed to receive nothing? Like 11 or 12? Why at some point was I not offered same-day delivery & setup? Over a week with no phone cost me more than $200 and say 12hrs not working at my pay rate is ALOT!! They need to be waiving a lot more than one connection fee!
I was with VZ 1994-2020. Hooked up my parents. Employees. Husband. Then 2 kids. Parted ways with VZ over a stupid $150 billing error they wouldn’t back down on. So now I’m thinking their lack of attention to detail in the billing, zero client retention and what’s going on now? Clearly indicates a foreshadowing. VZ doesn’t appreciate loyalty. Has inept customer service. And is cheap. Give your employees the power to offer me a real incentive to stay. How about a discount for time and trouble? Get me my devices. Pro-rate my bill fairly. Otherwise I’ll pay cash for Apple guaranteed refurbished phones at a fraction of the price and get Verizon through a MVNO. At $25/month all-in.
