Call forwarding for the 21st century vs 1980s tech

So... my phone was rolling right to my call forward --had it set up to do this after 4 rings and no clue why it stopped.  Went on line and to app to adjust but no such functionality ...just instructions to use *71 (conditional call forward)  *72 (autocall forward) and *73(cancel call forward).  I tried turning conditional back on.. didnt work.  I knew it didn't work cause had to have someone call me as the app/website doesn't show current status.  So I tried the *73.... no luck finally called customer service who cancelled my call forwarding.  This process and the fact I can't visually see on the app or website if/where/how my calls are forwarded to, cancel them or anything...is reminiscent on how we handled call forwarding in the 1980s...  How about  if we upgrade?  Pretend we are now in the 21st century and allow people to manage by an app.  Just saying major hassle... and inadequate self-support forcing me to call customer service instead of just hitting a toggle!!!  And, clearly customer service could see who and how it was being forwarded and hit a button...why can't I?
