Can I keep a phone number by transferring it to my ipad line?

I just did a bogo sale, but I hate to give up my phone number. I'm wondering if it is possible to keep the number by transferring it to my ipad line. I'm thinking I can forward calls to my new phone line. I don't want to mess up the bogo sale.
