Can I port my number on the end date of my contract

My contract ends on 10/10/13.   Can I port my number to a different carrier on that date?   Or do I need to wait until 10/11/13?  Thanks

Wait until 10/11/2013. You should also factor in your billing cycle date. You will be charged for the whole month even if you port out on the 11th and the billing cycle doesn't complete until 11/5.

As indicated by Ann154 (Thank you!) porting out before the end of your bill cycle will cause you billing to continue until the end of the bill cycle. While you can port-out your number on or after your contract end date without a penalty, I'd like ask: why are you considering porting out your service? Are you experiencing any service issues?
