Hey there. I've been trying to activate a new SiM I purchased through Amazon, a 5G microSiM for a Samsung Galaxy S8. This is an attempt to upgrade from a Galaxy Core Prime (SMG360V) I've been using for a long, long time now. The issue is that even when using the SiM's number and the S8's IMEI, trying to activate and transfer my main line number to the new SiM only gives me the message "your SiM is ineligible".
How can this be when I purchased a Verizon SiM, and I would imagine a 5G SiM should still support my 4G line, considering 4G SiMs did the same for the now defunct 3G network.
What can I do? I don't particularly want to "upgrade" my line as that would be redundant, and I don't particularly want to "upgrade" my device through Verizon as I already have the device I would like to use.
