Chaperone Service

I have the Chaperone Service on my daughter's phone, but she got hip to changing it to the E911 only to block her phone.  The only way to unblock it is to either power cycle the phone and hope that it goes back or physically changing it myself.  Is there any way to power cycle a phone without having the actual phone in your hand?  Verizon customer service was no help at all.  Any suggestions?

Unfortunately no, you cannot powercycle the phone or change the location settings unless you have the phone in your hand. Customer service can't do anything, tech support can't do anything. Like the previous poster said, take charge and either ground her or just take away things she uses on the phone *cough*USAGE CONTROLS!*cough* :smileywink:

HTH and Good luck!

This was my concern too because I would like to do this for school when it starts.  My stepdaughter does know how to disable it so we are going to have to come up with a punishment for turning it off when we put it on her phone!  I do use usage controls so that is an option!  So I would suggest using that as punishment!

No way to power off phone if you dont  have it. If she turns it to 911 only the only thing you can do is manually change it back. it wont change automatically with a powercycle. To punish her just block all Voice and text for a month or two. MAKE yes MAKE her carry the phone around everyday  for the sole purpose of being located with the Family Locator.  After that she will be happy to have a phone that she can make and rec calls, text, and can locate her at the same time. This will work

Most phones offer a way to lock the location setting and set a password that would be required in order to modify the setting. Just look in the security menu of the phone and edit passwords/restrictions. The default code is the last four digits of the phone number.
