Chat Agent

Have the chat agents always been this bad? I reached out to look into the cheapest options to add data to my plan, since the bill is already way too high as it is, but I need more data. After continuously selling me on an upgraded plan for a close price (but would never tell me the actual price) the agent eventually said they would upgrade me and keep my bill the same since I have been a customer for 16 years. After waiting a while for an answer the agent comes back and says oh sorry I can't give you that. I went back and forth with this person for 2 hours and they never actually answered my question. Just keep wasting my time and now I'm wondering if I should just change carriers instead of upgrading my plan
