Coverage in my area

Coverage in Amherst, NY area is terrible.  It has gotten worse. I had a Fios tech come to house to upgrade and internet. The tech couldnt finish the upgrade because she couldn't get cell service. She had to get in her car and drive closer to the Verizon garage hub to finish it and come back.  So I called Verizon Wireless today to see if they are doing anything about improving coverage. The first agent said because coverage in my area is known to be terrible I can get a free network booster but had to transfer me to tier 2 agent. Tier 2 agent was not helpful. Had me change settings and said I need to work off my home wifi to boost signal. He had me put roaming on. Problem is I am close enough to Canada that if I have roaming on and travel around my community it sometimes picks up Canada and I don't have free roaming plans.  Tier 2 agent recognized network service isn't great in my area but there is nothing else he can do and will not give me a free network booster.   I don't understand why Verizon isn't working more to improve cell service.  The tier 2 agent said I have foliage in my backyard and that might be the issue. I have a few trees. That can't be the issue.  Kind of creepy that he knows I have trees in my backyard. My only option is to switch cellphone carriers after being with Verizon for 15 years. Do better Verizon! Do better!

Service is horrible in this area.  It’s a busy market and cell calls drop routinely on transit road.  It’s ridiculous

Oh, no! Dealing with service issues can be frustrating, especially if you have terrible coverage. Verizon is here to help.

What exactly happens when you attempt to use the device? When did the issue start? What recent changes have you made? Who else is experiencing this issue?
