Is Verizon planning on offering a data rollover plan anytime soon? It seems like it would be fair to the customers seeing that we pay for limited amounts of data each month. We should be able to carry over what we don't use at the end of the billing cycle seeing that we paid for it. It use to be done with minutes and now I see other providers offering data rollover. It would be nice if Verizon would follow their lead.

I'm just realistic. In a perfect world, we would only pay for data in the amount we use. After the fact, like electricity as you said. I really agree with that. Actually in a perfect world it would be unlimited for reasonable amount no rollover, just pay what we use! See, I agree with that. However, my argument is Verizon is acting within the law, so I can't fault them. It is their responsibility to stay in business and make a profit. So either we need to change them by voting with our dollars, or the laws need to change.
The the reason I don't cheerlead with you on here is this forum is not what will make the difference. Don't give false hope, work with what works, market forces or the law. I am a firm believer of both. I also believe in honoring what you agree to. I think you will see all my comments adhere to those beliefs. one final belief, profit is not a bad thing, but what keeps us ahead, it just needs to be kept in check by market forces, and the law when market forces are not enough. Cable and telecom come very close to needing legal guidance.

And by the way, by forcing more logical arguments, I am advancing the cause.

Well good for that in that you like to spend the extra time and resources to manage your data usage, but let me know how you would agree to delayed data usage charges on your bill because of usage on extended networks or family base that is trusted by us customers willing to pay for the extra feature all to discover you could still go over your data, that is ridiculous for me to have to still spend extra time on my Verizon just to assure savings of at least $15, also when I pay rent I am paying for use of space not some virtual access to an amount of usage, data is very similar to a utility, the systems are not able to charge like any utility? Use only what you pay for? Does your electric company charge you for electricity you do not use? Or better yet if you live in the country and you own a 200 gallon tank of propane, you expect to have all that you pay for or do you expect the gas company to come out an top off you tank for the same price of 200 gallons even though you only used 50 ?
As to delayed charges on my bill due to usage on extended networks, I would prefer that to not being allowed to use data when on extended/partner networks. Verizon can only count that data when it is presented to them. If it presented after your billing period closes that is the earliest they can bill you for it. Would you prefer NOT to be allowed to use data on these networks???
No, my electric company does not charge me for electricity I do not use, but my water utility DOES charge me a set amount every 6 months for a minimum amount of water whether I use that amount of water or not. If I go over that amount, I get charged an additional amount, but if I do not use that amount I am still assessed the minimum charge for a set amount of water.
Oh, and my water utility ALSO uses meters and actual usage values are used on the bill. A minimum charge for UP TO a minimum amount of water, whether or not you actually reach that amount, and an additional charge if you go over the minimum amount.

Water companies do charge for a minimum usage that's to cover the cost of operations their electricity bill and to be able to pay their employees. I know this because I have asked them the questions. However all of that is besides the point, the point I want to make is there is way to much drama on these forums why does everyone have to be mean. I just wanna know if Verizon is gonna offer what their competition is offering??????

And exactly how long are you supposed to keep unused data? What's the limit of unused data that can be rolled over? My family and I pay for 30GB of data and we use it. I don't want to have to depend on finding a wifi to conserve data. The only time I use wifi is when I am at home. Really I am not using my mobile device at the point. The thing is, IF VZW offers such a program, people will then find ways to claim they'll file a law suit because unused data expired or something like that. I can already see the posts on this forum. The best options are to pick a data plan that fits your usage within 1-2GB or switch to one of the carriers that are offering this program. The freedom of choice.

1. Yes, I got spoil when I had a Verizon Pre-Paid Basic Phone. The credit balance I had every month rolled over to the next month. However, I had to make sure I added funds to my account every 30-days, or I would lose my credit balance. But my wife had T-Mobile Pre-Paid Basic Phone, and they would find some way to eat her credit balance up every month.
2. So it was a very hard pill to swallow when my wife had us to switch to smart phones each. When I explain to her the various charges involve in doing so, she had a hard time understanding why we had to pay some much for data usage, and why we had a pre-set limit of how much we could use each billing cycle.
3. We have unlimited data with our home WiFi service. And she could not understand why that was not the case with our smartphones. For a long time she believe that I did not know what I was talking about, and so forth. Then we got hit with her iPhone 5c 8GB using excessive amount of data usage. So I was telling her that we may have to pay to increase our data usage allowance, before we go over our limit. This did not set well with her. She could not understand why we could not have a plan like her daughters in Ukraine has.
4. However, in the end I was able to learn how to get her iPhone data usage under control. Yet I have to keep a close eye upon our usage daily or more. It is a good thing that with my Droid MAXX 16GB that I have not used any data usage since 26 October, 2014. In which case, I only had to keep a careful watch upon my wife's phone data usage.

I just want to make my own post but I don't see the option so I have to comment on someone's elses. Anyways her I go yes I had rollover minutes when I had Verizon prepaid just like every other company out there u had to purchase more minutes before the expiration date. So far every new plan the other companies offer Verizon has followed suit I am praying that they do with the rollover data plans too. At&t and T-Mobile both offer rollover data with the only requirement being its a sharable data plan, that's what I have so come on Verizon step up to the plate.

As the 8 ball says, all indications point to no. It is now more than 2 weeks since AT&T announced.

I buy the amount of data that I need. And while I use to care a lot about roll over data in the past...most of the places I frequent have free WiFi anyway. I'm on WiFi at home, work, my local car dealership where I get my vehicle serviced, my coffee shop, my doctors office, and 99% of all of family and friends homes that I frequent. So if VZW ever offers it, great...if not...not a big deal to me anyway. I'm sure this is not the same for all...but free public WiFi is starting to becoming the normal in a lot of places...

Best suggestion is to just buy what you need and do your best not to go over...
