Just curious if Verizon will follow AT&T on offering the same deals to existing customers, as new customers? Seems like AT&T has figured out how to keep their current customers happy, and probably will be stealing a lot of customers from Verizon. I have been a Verizon customer and had the same phone number since the day of Alltel, 20+ years. It is always the same when wanting to upgrade a phone, either pay more, or add a new phone number. It is very discouraging to have to deal with that after being a customer for so long. I just don't buy phones from Verizon. I go to Ebay, Amazon, or Craigslist. No contract and no getting messed up over on the cost of a new phone, just because Verizon does indeed care more about attracting new customers then keeping the ones they have happy. They try to sugar coat it, and say they have good deals for existing customers, but the deals are not really very good any way. So they can follow AT&T, or start loosing customers. Their choice.
We've had some really aggressive deals so far this year, Rmoreland1971. This includes discounts as high as $1,000.00 off on upgrades for existing customers. I would always say to pay close attention to the deals page and to our ads, if you are currently in the market to upgrade your phone. Keep in mind that a lot of those really big offers are going to be a pretty predictable times for the most part. Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Father's Day is coming up, grads, actual holidays, etc. That's when to be paying the closest attention. I hope this helps! https://www.verizon.com/deals/upgrades/
I have a plan new customers don't have access to. My line cost with taxes and unlimited data is under $40. THAT is the deal for existing customers. Verizon doesn't make money on equipment. If a "free" phone tied to being locked in at 2 years of service is that important, you're free to switch and deal with that hard inquiry.
