Does anyone know, if you receive the Edge discount on top of the Off-Contract discount?
Let me explain. I switched to the More Everything plan from Unlimited because of the better perks. Free Hot Spot, No Throttling (apparently). I am at 12 gb and don't really come close.
I get the discount for being off contract. $25 a line that is out of contract. I was wondering if I got a phone on Verizon Edge, would I also get an additional $25 per phone since I am not signing a new "Voice/Data" contract, just a phone contract.

Sorry, no double-dipping on discounts. You will get the SAME discount with the Edge, but you are entering into a contract w/ Verizon which is a condition of the month-2-month discount.

Are you sure? The Verizon Edge plan isn't a voice/data contact which is what the discount is for.

Yes I am sure. The More Everything Month to Month discount is possible because your phone is off-contract and therefore your service is month-to-month. Technically purchasing a new device with the Edge program does involve a contract on the phone.
Options:
- Pay full retail price and keep the month-to-month discount (no contract) (example: $600 phone, $600 discount over 24 month)
- Purchase with the Edge program (contract to pay for the phone) and get the Edge discount - gives you the advantage of being able to spread out the payments, and the option to trade-in and upgrade sooner than 2-year contract.

Does the Edge contract end when the phone's paid off? If so, does the "off contract" discount apply at that time?

Yes & Maybe
Yes, the Edge contract ends when the phone is paid off
Maybe or Possibly, but only IF the discount "off contract" promo is still available at that time

AAs of today yes, in 2 years? Who knows.
none of my business, but why would you pay for 12gb when u could get the discount with a 10gb plan?

As of right now the month to month discount promotion is only through the end of the month, but things change everyday at Verizon so who knows. The month to month is a loyalty promotion that will stay on your line until you decide to upgrade or as said before enter into a new contract.

Yes were sure. You get one or the other. Seriously you REALLY think you're going to get a $50 a month discount? Both discounts come off the line fee. Since the line fee is a max of $40 how would you get a $50 discount?
