Every time I log in to VZW online, I have to get a verification code

This started about six months ago. I log in to VZW on my computer, but I have to pass another layer of verification - I am asked if I'd like a verification code texted to my phone, or emailed. After the code arrives, I can log in to the site. The problem is, this happens every time I log in to VZW -- I have to authenticate even though I authenticated before.

I called Tech Support and had a ticket opened, spoke to numerous CSRs; some even said they never saw a problem like this. It never got resolved, and it still happens. I try to stay logged in as long as possible until I'm sure I am done, because logging back in is so frustrating.

What would it take to get this resolved?

Hello, Char24, we know it's important to be able to easily access your My Verizon account. Were you able to access your account without a code before? When checking your Security Settings: https://www.verizon.com/digital/nsa/secure/ui/acct/profile/security#/ do you have Two-factor authentication turned off?

Same issue. Every time that I want to stream a show on my own computer, I have to authenticate the same computer. How do I stop this? So frustrating.

vzwlifer-for-now, we want to make sure that you're able to stream your shows. Is this in regard to Verizon Fios or Verizon Wireless service?

Verizon Fios. I can stream programs on the computer. The issue is that Verizon asks me to register the device EVERY, SINGLE TIME. What do I need to do to stop this?

I'm having the same issue. Started a few days ago. It's annoying.

After searching around for solutions, I found a reference to dual factor authorization. While I am a huge fan of DFA and MFA, I turned it off and I am no longer being asked to verify my computer every time I want to watch Fios on my computer.

After this worked, I realized that I may have turned the DFA a few months ago - about the time that this started. From a security perspective, I would much prefer to have DFA on; however, for a private device, I should not have to verify it every time.

Hope that this helps.

Hello tekblast. In the following link you will be directed straight to managing your security settings in My Verizon mobile. This will help you with the two-factor authentication which is why you get these notifications: https://secure.verizon.com/signin?goto=https%3A%2F%2Fmyvpostpay.verizon.com%3A443%2Fui%2Facct%2Fsecu...
