Does anyone know whether you can dial 911 from a Home Phone Connect and get connected to your local 911 service? I am considering switching to this from a wired land line but this is a "deal killer" for my wife.

We're sorry our initial response did not fully answer the question. The answer is yes, 911 from Home Phone Connect functions similarly to the way it would on your Verizon Wireless cellular handset; however, for emergency calls to 911 from indoor environments, please be prepared to provide your location within the premises to public safety. The GPS receiver embedded in this device works best when the device is located near a window or other opening.
Thanks,

In other words, does it behave as if you are calling from a landline or a cell phone? My guess would be cell phone, since all the other features appear to be cell phone features....

Does this mean that the device may not connect with the local 911 and may connect with one in another area that will not where you are located even if you do give them the address where you are located? This has been an issue with cell phone 911 calls.

I know this has already been solved but wanted to give my experience to this question. I had a health problem and had to call 911 from a cell phone, first they ask your name and address that leads the 911 operator to your nearest Police Station and usually the police are there before the ambulance. After my experience I asked the police office what would happen if I could not speak and not able to give my name and address this is the answer to that - you dial 911 and keep the line open the 911 operator puts a trace on the nearest cell tower your calling from and that town will send out a police officer and if its a medical problem will call the ambulance this method does take longer and when calling 911 in person because once the locate the cell tower they have to start looking in the general area of the cell tower to find you. So the answer is yes if your calling from your local area you will get help from your local area if your out of town or out of state you will get help from that town and state. (Under ,Menu go to Settings & Tools, then Phone Settings, then Location, then Location on E911 be sure the E911 is on.)
