Hello All You Verizon Users, I am wondering How many of you don't get 4 GLTE Service ? I Myself had an Unlimited Plan with My 3 G service, So I Bought another Wifi Unit off Line MIFI so I called Verizon to have it Activated and was very Excited at the time, So I called customer service to get it activated and I was Happy as a Ground Hog in February LOL, Until we got into our Conversation, Frist off all I was Elated to find out that I would be offered a 20 gig a month Plan for 80.00 A Month, It seemed Great, I only use 5 to 10 at the most. But I didn't want to do it unless I could get 4 G LTE
It is not available in My area Yet, But from what I understand They Just Put in a Brand New State of the Are Optical Fiber in out area, So everything is sounding good so far, I was told and The Verizon Person told me that 4 G LTE would ' Would ' Be in my area by the end of 2013, Sounding great to me and I am very excited to have it because we have hardly any other wireless services available in my area , Big Bay Mi. Well Here is where I feel I was Duped, I said to the sales person that the 20 gigabyte a month sounded good to me, " Lets do that Package" Ok MR. T my last name So it take a few minutes, She says for some reason its not letting me give you what I said you could get, and she doesn't understand why, So I asked well what else can we do, She Stated I could get a 10 gigabyte Plan for 80.00 dollars a month, I said I don't know I am paying 59.99 a month now for Unlimited without the 4 G LTE I wasn't interested I said " I'll Just Wait Until the Upgrade to 4 G and then switch it. She assured me that the 4 G would be serving my area by the end of 2013, I said I'll just wait and keep my Unlimited Package, " Guess What " She advised me that Now she tried to change my Package to the 20 gig a month that I could not go back to my Unlimited Internet Package, OMG I wasn't to happy But seems the 4 G LTE Was Promised in my area and the fiber I seen them installing I figured it would be Ok Well Its almost Feb, now and still no 4 G LTE. I still Have my 3 G which works But now I seem to get cut off all the time and its costing more and more, In all the years I have never went over my Usage but with some of crap that's going on now I get cut off all the time and have to try and re down load my info and its Using my Bandwidth and now I have gone over my 10 gig month. Its very Frustrating, I have a question I would Like to ask anyone out here that reads this Post, How Many People are not getting 4 G LTE Service ? If its as many as I am Hearing about Verizon is not 99.9 % covering the U.S. I am not to angry at Verizon but I wish they would get this 4 G LTE service up and Running I was told It would be and its not very Unimpressed, I have called, Emailed, Chat, and No One seems to Know what is going on, what really gets me is The Person that duped me out of my unlimited package seemed to know, But all of a sudden No body Knows Nothing, I find it a very Poor Practice for any one I own a repair shop and I would never tell a person That there Driving a Corvette or it will turn into a Vette when they are driving a Voltswagon, I would Post me speed but it to embarrassing for the 80.00 dollars a month I am being charged for my Internet. I want to hear from all the People that don't have 4 g yet, and find out what the percentage really is.

Since you have a very old and retired unlimited mobile broadband data plan and a 3G only mifi, you can NEVER switch to a 4G device and keep the old unlimited plan. When VZW first introduced the 4G LTE network and the first 4G USB modems, they also announce the only plans those devices and future 4G mobile broadband device were allowed to be activated on were the tiered data plans. If you activate a 4G LTE jetpack/mifi, you will be switched to the tiered data plan.
Verizon Wireless has started to refarm the tower to broadcast 4G and reduce the amount of 3G it can pick up.
Are there no broadband internet options available in your area that are landline based?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Funny Verizon say they don't have unlimited plan anymore, because when i wanted to upgrade my 4S to 5S, they told me the only way i can keep my unlimited plan is to pay full price for the iPhone. Right there it shows how unrelaiable customer service they are, so many lies and dumb excuses. Bottom line, they only care about their bank account not the customer.
So if they told you the unlimited plan it does not exist, it is complete lie. Other vendors have unlimited talk/txt/data for only $80/month.
I guess it is time to leave Verizon to their ego and find other service that cares about the customer.

The smartphone unlimited data plan that YOU are referring to is completely different from the mobile broadband unlimited data plan I was referencing. The mobile broadband unlimited data plan was retired long before November 2010 when the 4G LTE network was introduced and turned on December of that year.
And you can keep your unlimited SMARTPHONE data IF you purchase the phone at the FULL retail price. You should read the fine print attached to those other vendor's plan options.

Verizon is the one told me if i pay full price for the phone, i can keep the unlimited data plan, not other vendors. I'm aware of other vendors fine print, because my wife has one of them for the past 15 years and they never change anything on her all those years.
I can tell you that Verizon is a big name with no customer satisfaction consideration.
Keep believe what they tell you.
Sprint customers still have their unlimited plans with their new 4G LTE conversion
AT&T customers still have their unlimited planswith their new 4G LTE conversion
I guess we need to read Verizon fine print not the others.
No wonder my employer is changing services from Verizon to XXXXXX

What do all those carriers have in common? They throttle your downloads speeds(they may say they don't, but they will say network optimization clause). Verizon legally can't throttle you if you have an LTE device. I bet Verizon probably would have let people keep unlimited if they were allowed to throttle like every other carrier.
Think about it... I am willing to put money down. The more customers those other carriers get and if they can't throttle to reduce how much they pay out to landline providers(carriers do not own majority of the backbone) they'll drop unlimited internet. Sprint already went on record about this issue. AT&T imposes a 5GB throttle. T-Mobile unlimited data plan is dictated by network optimization. If I go over 2.5GB I could be throttled during peak times so other customers can achieve their softcaps.

Hello Thanks But I think you missed the point, I had unlimited 3 g Now I have Limited 3 g for 30.00 dollar more a month, I could of kept my 3 g and had not worried about going over a limit because I keep getting cut off during Updates for my Alienware computer and MCAFEE ALL IN ONE, I Was Promised by a sales Person that the 4 G LTE would be available for me by the end of 2013, Well I am still waiting and No 4 G LTE yet . That was My Concern I could Care Less about the Old Plan if Verizon told me one thing and I feel I was Tricked into the Package I have In Which I am ok with had the 4 G been up and working Now But its Not. and that to me is concerning and why would on sales person know the 4 g was going to be available here and Now its not and I have sent Numerous E-mails, Phone calls Chat sessions and all of a sudden no body knows what I am talking about and with No Replies. Now you can tell me if you would be happy about that,
To answer your other question No there Is No other provider in my area on Landline, But I know they just put Fiber In Not sure if its Google or AT&T or Verizon, But I would expect who ever is Leasing this fiber should know about it, You Tell me ? And to say one more thing about the throttling back that should NEVER Happen with Fiber NEVER
