My verizon home base unit is giving me some problems, at least the use of the line is giving me problems.
Calls are dropped. Numbers dialed don't work the first few times, even though dialed correctly.
I don't think the problem is with the home base itself, but rather the wireless connectivity.
How do I get more reliable service?

DBaertschy,
This is definitely concerning & so happy to see you have reached out to us here. Help is our middle name & we’re here to get this resolved quickly for you. Our number one goal is to make sure you have reliable service all the time! When did this problem start to happen? When you say this is the home base unit, are you referring to Verizon Wireless home phone? (Meaning that you have this device on your Verizon Wireless account.) You mentioned that you have to dial out many times in order to connect a call. Do you receive an error message when trying to dial out? When you do connect to a call, does the call drop right away or does it drop after a certain amount of time on the call? Do you have other cell phones on your Verizon Wireless account that are in the same location that are experiencing dropped calls? If so, what are the make & model of the cell phones?

I have a Verizon home base phone on my account.
Frequently when dialing I get a Verizon message that the number is not
operational or that the call could not be completed. Usually, dialing
again immediately makes the connection.
I have not had dropouts on my cell phone but I don't use it nearly as
much so that is not a good indicator. The dropouts occur mostly on
cross country calls. They happened about 10% of the time in August and
September. We have not used the phones again until mid October and so
far have not had any drop outs. I have had several failed connections,
as mentioned above since mid October.

Having a reliable, landline device with Home Phone connect is expected, DBaertschy. I use my land line frequently. Having calls drop or having failed connections is not acceptable. We will fix this for you. Are you dialing a 10 digit number or placing a 1 in front of the 10 digit number? Have you tried to dial *228 on your landline then press option 1 to update?

I do not precede the 10 digit number with a 1. I do not know what
dialing *228 would do. I will research it and try it if it seems ok.

We want your home phone connect to operate seamlessly, DBaertschy. We don't want you to have to double dial. By dialing *228, option 1 you are updating your home phone connect to the closest towers. Normally, by doing this, it will resolve any calling issues that you may have.
