If I am dialing a US number why would I get a pop up message, "if your dialing an international number, charges may apply"
That sounds like a network glitch and I'd try getting Verizon to open a trouble ticket for you. Seems to be something that comes up every so often because there were a few threads about this same thing a couple months ago.
