I answered my own question. I upgraded to MiFi® 4G LTE Global USB Modem U620L that does not require VZ Access manager to connect and lo and behold my upgraded Quicken now connects too. Since changes were made in the way Quicken connects by Intuit last April it kept me from taking Quicken 2014 and then 2016 online. Problem solved.

It’s important that all systems are compatible, clyde69. We’d like to check further into this for you and make sure we are providing the correct answers. What are you trying to do with Quicken? Have you already tested it out and having trouble? You can learn more about the VZAccess Manager here, http://vzam.net/.

I think Intuit had a solution also but my spam filter dumped the notice they sent so not sure on that. They told me they sent notice in April 2016 that was included a patch to Intuit products but the patch did not get my Quicken connected later when I complained to their tech support. My Modem upgrade did. Quicken is not compatible with VZ Access.

The reason it is not compatible is that Intuit products use old tech to see if a dialup modem is connected and it does not consider an always on connection even though Windows see the connection. A work around I found with VZ Access was when Quicken pops up the error to say it is not online there is a button that says ignore and then it goes ahead and connects. With the new MiFi® 4G LTE Global USB Modem U620L it does not pop up the error.

The same problem still exists in 2023. Message I get is Account Locked. I've read other threads online that other users have had to have their accounts reset for the matter to be resolved. Is there anything else that can be done? Any work around to get the connection?
