Now that my phone bill is approaching the amount of my camper payment, I have to really reconsider the NEED for such service. I mean, come on....I could be paying for a REAL TOY, like a motorcycle, camper, 4 wheeler....something of VALUE....not bits of data being streamed across the universe.
So, I've been looking at other service providers and have found similar features and coverage for half the price. So I brought this up to a customer service rep at Verizon. I specifically asked if they would offer a lower cost alternative. The response was similar to the smoke blown from the mouth of Jay Carney when asked about Benghazi, that amounted to the rep saying " well I pay for 5 lines myself "..... pitty party for you....
ATTENTION VERIZON: I WILL NOT continue to pay such ridiculous amounts of money for cell service because it's "cool" or "hip". Convenient? Sure, but not NECESSARY.
I DEMAND that you offer a lower cost solution for those that don't need to share large amounts of data with every stinking device. Verizon, with their ridiculous plans, have alienated users like myself that only use a gig or less of data a month and few voice minutes.
HEY VERIZON!!! I'M DONE WITH YOU if you do NOT offer an alternative that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. It isn't "COOL" any longer.
And, I'd prefer spending my money on something of substance.
Well that's what the share everything is for, and if you want a cheap cell phone bill, go to prepaid or have a basic phone. No one needs to be connected 24/7, for 2 basic phones I only pay $90 a month, 1 smart phone could MAYBE be that low.
You want a "lower cost solution"? Verizon offers a "lower cost solution".
Prepaid basic phone with unlimited text and web and 500 minutes/month for only $35/month. Add unlimited minutes to bring it up to $50/month.
Prepaid smartphones with unlimited texting and minutes with 500 MB/month for only $60/month. Increase your data allowance to 2 GB/month to bring it up to $70/month.
Don't like the selection of phones available on prepaid. You can go with Share Everything.
Minimum for a smartphone would be $90/month($40 access fee + $50 for 1 GB of data). Includes unlimited talk & text.
Minimum for a basic phone would be $50/month which includes unlimited talk & text with 300 MB of data.
Of course, taxes & fees would be additional.
i would like to know what plan you are on and what features are you paying for like insurance, extended warranty, usage controls, etc. can you give more details

A) what does Benghazi have to do anything but to make an anti-Obama rant here where it is totally inappropriate.
B) I'm not sure how you think a CS rep can somehow magically change Verizon plans and pricing structure. Verizon pans are on their website and clearly stated. You know what they are. CS reps do not have the kind of power you seem to think they have.
C) If you can find better service elsewhere then go with that company. So was there a point to your post because this board for people that actually need HELP. I didn't see an actual question.
Honestly I don't get this whole thinking where people feel the need to come to a customer to customer forum to say they are leaving. If I wanted to leave I leave. If you think anyone at Verizon actually comes here and reads these boards you are sorely mistaken. And if they did they certainly aren't going to change policy just because you complaining about it.

The problem is people like him want the unlimited everything including unlimited 4G data for $35 a month and anything higher they are getting "ripped off" by the evil, greedy company.

my words exactly!!
VZW CFO Fran Shammo just mentioned at an investors meeting (always with the investors, these guys) that they look at plans like T-Mobile recently implemented and have no plans to change service pricing, Maybe installment plans on non-contract phone pricing, which is money down the toilet, i.e. in VZW's coffers, since service plans maintain subsidy pricing, contract or not.
Why no plans to implement better pricing? Because instead of the big churn rates I was expecting over these awful plans, adoption Shammo claims is now at 1/3 of the customer base. That's at least $30 extra from each customer who was on the individual plans before, and for less data. Which means I will be doing some legwork when my current contract ends rather than pay $40/mo extra over what I am paying now for comparable levof service.
I'm very disappointed in Shammo's remarks, (though the investors certainly were not) because I was hoping for a reduction in the access fee for the devices on those share plans. 100 for a smartphone plan with only 2 Gig of data is absolutely outrageous. T-Mobile offers you the same ULT&T+2 Gig data w/Hotspot for $60. Would be nice if VZW matched that pricing by eliminating the $40 access fee on the first smartphone on the account. But, according to the CFO, they won't. Time to vote with your wallet and your feet, folks.
