When sending a text message with a picture attached, it takes over 24 hrs to send albeit we have 3 bars of service and connected to the local WiFi. I was told by Verizon to activate HD, But I don’t see that option on my phone.
It appears my phone doesn’t use the local (home WiFi) albeit it says its connected.

Hello, Fdfryer, thanks for reaching out with regard to picture messaging. You mentioned you are experiencing this issue when WiFi is turned on. Are you able to send picture messages when WiFi is turned off? Are you able to use data both on and off WiFi without a problem?

I really don’t use data. I only check my email messages, and don’t usually reply. Recently we get a message flashed across the screen while typing any text message that says “Network unavailable “ albeit we have 3 bars of signal strength and it says our home WiFi is connected. Picture messages take almost a day to send regardless if WiFi is on or off. I hope this answers your questions! Thanks!

Anything would help. I have already talked to two Verizon representatives. And made a service request. The field service said everything appears to be working correctly...
We frequently get a message on our phone “Network Service Temporarily Unavailable”. This frequently happens while typing a text message all the time having 3 bars of service and local WiFi.... When this message comes up it blocks out your screen while typing - So Annoying.
So Yes, if you have any suggestions I would be glad to try any suggestions...

Thank you for that information, I appreciate it. Do you run into any issue with calls or sending/receiving regular text as well? Is this issue happening at a particular location? Was there a time when you were able to send picture messages without an issue?

Yes my wife’s phone has the same problem. It appears our phones are not using the local WiFi even though it say its connected... I think there is a software problem.

Thank you for the information regarding the issue with Wi-Fi Calling. WiFi calling is only able to assist with calls, and will not have any benefit to text messages. What messaging app are you using? ~Peter

I don’t know if you would call it an App. Message + comes with an LG EXALT Flip-Phone. I don’t think I can download an App since the phone is not connected to the internet unless it can find a local WiFi.
