In September we went into Verizon to get my daughter a new phone and add her to our plan. The employee that we delt with was pushing this promotion they had going and talked me into getting a new phone as well(which I don't like). He also said that with this promotion we could get two FREE additional devices and told us that even with adding these two FREE tablets he would still be able to keep our bill where it currently was at just under $200. He said we would only have to pay for the initial activation fees and after the first couple months our bill would go back down to $200. Well, in January we got a bill for $227 . We went down to our local store and this very helpful representative (different from our initial representative) tried to find where we could cut back and get our bill back down to $200 but she couldn't find a way. When I asked about dropping one of the FREE tablets to save on the $20/month fee she said we couldn't because we were still PAYING for them. We still owed $400 for each of these tablets. What? They were supposedly FREE-Why am I paying for them? What this original employee had FAILED TO SAY was that it would be LIKE we were getting them for free because of the monthly credits we would be getting from this promotion over the next THREE years. If he had said this I would never have agreed , we didn't really need new tablets, especially not 2 new tablets. Now we are stuck with a bill over our budget and I feel like I have been swindled by a very crafty snake oil salesman. We have been Verizon customers for decades and this is how we are treated? I feel foolish and betrayed.
