NO SERVICE suddenly

We have been longtime verizon customers, have never had an issue with coverage or service. We have lived in our current home for a year and a half with no issues, coverage and signal have always been fine. Very few dropped calls during that whole time. Of course we just upgraded to new phones that we are still paying on as we have always been pleased with the coverage and service we have gotten. Suddenly yesterday in the middle of the day all 4 devices on our acct go to NO SERVICE. It has now been almost 24 hours like this. I reached out to VZW on fb last night and they walked me through various steps to try to troubleshoot and the only answer I get is I'm in a variable coverage area. Why is this suddenly coming up? We have never had an issue before and if I had known we were in a "VARIABLE COVERAGE AREA" I would've went with a different provider when we moved. The analyst on fb could only tell me it SHOULD come back eventually but zero time frame or reason as to why we are suddenly in a dead zone. As soon as we leave the house the signal starts to come back, nothing has changed in our neighborhood, no big buildings that have went up that could possibly block signals etc. Has anyone else been through this, did your signal ever come back? I feel like we are just going to have to jump ship and go with a different provider as we work from home and can't be without our devices. We are located in Inez, TX 77968 and apparently there are no outages in our area, just our dead no service house I guess.

I also live in Inez and am having this problem! No issues for over 2 years living here and suddenly no service!

I don't know what happened to Verizon lately, but cell phone coverage is spotty at best in my area, and i cannot even use the stupid phone in my house....wifi calling doesn't work either.

Jump ship. I also am real long customer with 500 dollar plus a month payments over 5 yeArs   Always buying 5 top apple phones every year with two apple watches. There has been no bennifits or gifts nothing.  Never late on payments. Never discounts on cell phones. I always hear my friends recieving all top new phobes for whole family for nothing.  Every time i upgrade any of 5 lines i pay top dollar along with bogus fees. Now i upgraded 2 lines and clerk messed something up. Account saying 2 year terms arent up on upgrading lines. But they really are. Clerk messed up something. So they acknowledge they are wrong so inorder to finish teo upgrades verizon pays 929 dollars to make account able for early upgrade when 2year leases were up.

So all great we get new phones and next bill i owe 2000 something. Im like what?  Here two weeks later they reverse the 929 they paid for their mistake and bill me the 929 and say they are mailing me a check for the 929. So i pay all next bill less the 929 they are sending me in a check for their mistake. For some odd reason. Month goes by. No check. Of course when you owe them money they want now with intersest. But if they owe you. Good luck. So i call after they disconnect my 5 lines and two watches. With disconnect fees along with reconnect fees for every line and late fees. They say check was delivered but i never recieved. They say they sendind another one. Again a month later my phones go off. All the fees for every line again along with late fees and taxes for their computer for thinking of you. I call again. They say check is delivered. Not to me. They send again. Two weeks they call me every dAy looking for their checkthey want deposited so bad. Nothing.

A month later phones again are off along with fees galore. I call they say check delivered and cashed. I say not from me they send for investigation. Few weeks go bye they say they will mail me a cooy of cashed check reciept and i am to take it to bank that cashed it and find out why they cashed it with out id. I am like what? Why am i doing this stuff. None of this is my fault from the get go?  Never a late payment and my bill is well over 500 month for 5 years along with 200 plus cable bill everymonth. So im waiting for check reciept in mail for weeks. Nothing comes i call after phones go off again cause i only pay all bill except for 929 every month. I asking why cant you email me this check reciept. They cant. ?? Why. Im not getting your checks in mail. But your bills never fail to make it to my mail box.

So phones go off again i am so freaking sick of this stuff. I have two watches i purchased in april its now july 6 same time this mess all started. I cant connect watches cause of over due payments not paid.  I finally talk to lady today while turning phones back on again askin her to please reverse all the fees taxes and every kind of fees they can make up. Explaining this entire story everytime i talk to next person they pass me to on phone everymonth. This lady feels for me. Thank you lady. She says she can look check receipt up email it to me anything. Why couldnt they do that before.  She says they were authurized to be able to of done that. But made me wait for imaginary mail. She says check was deposited into a routing number that isnt mine along with signature that was unreadable. And amount was diffrent than original amount said.  All weird.

So now she puts in for the highest investigation with the 929 money they owe me for 4 months of heck and hassle to be credited to my account like they did in beginning instead of this bogus unicorn delivering check in mail to me. I wait now to see results.

I AM SO OVER THIS SITUATION. I AM LOYAL NEVER LATE HIGH MONTHLY PAYING CUSTOMER FOR YEARS WHO SPENDS MUCH MONEY ON ALL ACCESSORIES AND WATCHES ETC ALONG WITH FIOS CUSTOMER ALSO 200 plus a month. I AM SO FED UP WITH THIS. NONE OF THIS IS MY FAULT. I WAS JUST WASTING MONEY BY PAYING VERIZON EXTRA MONEY FOR UPGRADING LIKE I DO LOYALLY EVERY YEAR buying new apple phoes same insides but diffrent name and camera hole diffrent. None of this had anything to do with me doing anything wrong.

Verizon telling me i was to take this check receipt around to banks to find out who cashed their check that i never recieved. SERIOUSLY NOT A JOKE. IF YOU ACTUALLY STILL READING THIS. WHAT DO I DO. I WANT MY WATCHES I BOUGHT IN APRIL TO CONNECT. NOW JULY 6. I think i am jumping ship. Like you me tioned in your blog. NO RESPECT FOR YOUR SOLID LONG TERM HIGH PAYING NEVER LATE CUSTOMER. THIS IS CHUMP CHANGE COMPAIRED TO MONEY I PAY TO VERIZON ALL THESE YEARS. BUT 4 months and going i sit waiting WHY. I NEVER EVER GOTTEN ANY DISCOUNTS OR NOTHING FOR HANDING OVER THOUSANDS. NO THANKS NO SPECIAL TREATMENT. OR RESPECT FOR MY LOYALTY.  I AM THE BIGGEST FAN FOR VERIZON AND FOR FIOS. NOW THAT I LOOK AT ALL THIS VERIZON DOESNT CARE NOTHING ABOUT ME OR WHO I AM LET ALONE MY TIME   BEING A1 CUSTOMER never late.

We will see what happens today. I want to keep throwing thousands to you monthly but you are making me want to waste my money to another Carrier. I am loyal to verizon i hope you make a come back and be the company i stand behind and recomend. Thank you for your time if you read all this. All true. JUMPSHIP????MAYBE. WILL HAVE THAT ANSWER BY CLOSING TIMES TODAY.   DROPPING THE MIC ON FLOOR AS I WALK AWAY

This happened to me as well and our data is already used up with 21 days still left. This never has happened before so I am not sure what has changed. I am also thinking about "jumping ship".

Tracie, this is not the experience we want our customers to have with their Verizon service. We are sorry to see that the service is down in your area. Upon reviewing the zip code you provided, we don't show any service problems in the area. Allow us to look closer at this problem and find the best resolution. To be sure we are on the same page, tell us more, what type of signal is your phone showing? What problems are you having with the service? Are there other Verizon customers in the area reporting similar issues?

Sounds like Verizon is no longer footing the bill for roaming on other carrier's towers.

very difficult to find a place to post so ill just rant. within last 10 days we have lost fios three times. first tech said it was a problem on the street, no vid incoming, h was putting in a service call. next guy said the same thing, changed sub router and main incoming box. a week later, no vid again. another service man coming tomorrow, i've had it. im pahing my phone part of the bill only and not fios. if the shut me off ithen so be it. verizon is terrible, period. i moving in two months or id get another service, they have comcast where im moving, yeah, they are terrible too. if anyone from verizon reads this post, consider me the unhappiest client on the planet. if i treated my clients like u treat yours, id be out of business.

We have lost service in our house, too.  We have lived in this house for 6 years with no problems, now we have to stand in the driveway to make a call.  We are in zip code 68022. 

We use use our phones for work and will have to change providers if we canโ€™t this working soon.

While you may be forced to change providers, be sure your new provider has adequate service in OTHER areas you use your phone for work.

NO provider has the best service in ALL areas, but Verizon has better service than most providers in MORE areas. Hopefully you won't be trading better service in your home for worse service in many other locations you require it.

The easy answer for your home is a landline. The answer is not so easy in other locations you do not have a permanent physical presence.

Add me to the list of people who have had cell service in their homes for literally years and suddenly without warning have found themselves without service. Can someone tell me what Iโ€™m going to do with a $600 paperweight? THis being my only means of communication and disabled I canโ€™t be without a phone. To say Iโ€™m in a slight panic is an understatement. Why donโ€™t I have a signal after having a strong signal for over 12 years of living here. I live less than a mile from a tower and less than a mile and a half from another. This is to say the least confusing and the most very poor customer service. I sure hope someone can help me out.

Same thing here! Zip code 45786. This is ridiculous. Iโ€™ve lived here 5+ years and never had a seconds worth of trouble. I know itโ€™s not my phone because Iโ€™ve done EVERYTHING including factory reset it. My parents are experiencing the same problems. I tell you right now if something doesnโ€™t get fixed AND QUICK Iโ€™m out and jumping ship. My parents already are rocky with Verizon so I wouldnโ€™t be surprised if they do it too.

You mentioned that you haven't had this problem in the last 5 years which makes me think that this is a more recent problem for you. When did this problem start? Are you having issues with your calls, text, and data or just one of these features? Is this happening indoors or outdoors?

I am also having trouble with the service in my home as well. Our WiFi is very slow so we donโ€™t really use it much, weโ€™re usually on our data. Me and my boyfriend have lived here for years, and never had issues with our service. We both have unlimited data, and every time we get home and into the house, our service will still say one or two bars of LTE but nothing will work. I canโ€™t send an iMessage or a text, canโ€™t use any apps that require a connection, phone calls are spotty, everything that comes with service. Zip code is 13156, Sterling NY! We do have dead zones around here in some areas but our house has never been a problem until just about a week ago!!!

Kmodery, I rely heavily rely on my phone to work at all times, especially at my home. It is troubling to hear that your service has degraded over the last week. I am here to help and get this resolved. The great news is there are no service alerts in your area. How far from your home do you have to go to get better service? Can you describe what you mean by spotty for the calls (drop, poor audio, etc)?

I had this problem twice.  The first time, I installed the latest software update and the problem was resolved.  The second time, I turned the phone off for a couple minutes and when I turned it back on my phone was functioning properly.

I'm having the same issues there's obviously something going on that they're not saying. Made several calls but no one seems to know the solution. Maybe someday the FCC will look into this and find out why there's such a problem.
