Phone was working fine this morning then NO SERVICE showed up on screen in corner. Cannot make or receive calls or texts. Went to verizon store and was told a cell tower was undergoing maintenance. They were not sure how long it would be out. Can get service if I drive my car about 4 blocks away but nothing in my home. Live In Pa. Has anyone experienced this issue? Thanks

Hello. We understand how important it is to be able to use your phone while at home. Wi-Fi calling allows you to make and receive calls and send messages even when in a variable coverage area

Thanks for replying David. The cell service in my home has always been fine. This morning about 10AM cell service went out. The service goes from NO SERVICE to SOS ONLY to Verizon LTE and then Verizon. The representative at Verizon in Springfield, Pa. told me a cell tower was down for maintanance. Told me service would be back to normal in 3 to 6 hours. Still not back working. If I drive a couple of blocks away from my home, I can get service but nothing in my home. It is effecting my cell,, hubbys cell and our house line which are all on the Verizon Wireless network. If I turn on WIFI calling will I be charged as it uses other networks? Do you know when this cell tower might be fixed? If I do not have service in the morning I will go back to the Verizon store again. You are right it is very frustrating as I have been a Verizon customer for over 20 years.
Thanks.

You will not be charged for using Wi-Fi calling. Calls and texts made over Wi-Fi to numbers in the US don't use our cellular network and don't count against your mobile plan's data allowance. However, the Wi-Fi network you're connecting to may charge an access fee.
At this time, we are only limited to the fact that the service will be restored in the next few hours , but not when the technicians will be finishing the maintenance details.

Did you get any more information from the verizon tech today? I’m also in Springfield and have been without service at home since about 11:30a yesterday. We are probably close neighbors since I can get service if I drive to the library.
