Why do all the BOGO and New Phone Promotions all require a New Line of service. What do I need a new line for? I just want to upgrade my old phone. It seems like Verizon only wants to give deals for New Lines or New Customers. And, the only way I'm going to get those same deals is if I go to a New Carrier. Am I wrong? Why can't I get some kind of price break for being a customer for over 15 years? Guess how many New Lines I've added in 15 years? 0. I only need one line. Does Verizon want me to keep my dollars here or go to a New Carrier?

Maybe it's because these promos aren't aimed at you? I'm not a fan of seafood, but I don't go to a fish place and complain about the menu cause it doesn't appeal to me.
Moving the significant other from another carrier (or just adding) to your plan? It's for you. Kid old enough to get a phone? It's for you. You get the idea.
BOGO deals are entirely meant to upgrade a phone and add another person to save you cash on their phone.
New phone deals are the same as the first year of cable or a credit card being easy on the interest. It's to entice customers to join their company. There's no benefit to "loyalty" for a billion dollar company after the first year or so. If you don't have a good grandfathered plan to make those years count, it's sometimes better to switch time to time.
Unlike a cable company, you get a choice. The concept of company loyalty is a silly one to me personally.
