New activation from new Verizon phone won’t transfer my old number

I have been trying for 2 days straight to get my new Verizon phone set up with my old carriers phone number. I have been transferred to at least 20 Verizon online “agents” and no one can help! I’m so frustrated with this whole thing and all I want is to talk to a ACTUAL human that can help me!! This online chathelp is pathetic!

Hi, sorry to hear about your porting issues. The online chat is sometimes just an AI bot and other times you get a live person; seems a random thing. Have you contacted your old carrier to make sure they released the number? If there is some problem with your account at the old carrier, it may cause them to hold the number.
Verizon's Porting Department can be reached at 888-844-7095 if the problem turns out to be on Verizon's end such as needing to provision your number correctly or get it synced to the network. Depending on who your old carrier is, can take up to 48 hours for a port to finalize.
