My phone was stolen while traveling. I ordered a replacement online on Saturday and paid for next day delivery which would be Sunday so I would have my phone ready to go for work on Monday and also for family and friend communication. I also had the option of picking up at a store which is only 1 mile from my house however, due to my schedule, I wanted it sent to my home.
At Verizon.com my order delivery status was confusing as it indicated both delivery today (Sunday) and Tuesday so I called support. They told me I would get my phone on Monday by 8:00 pm. There is a quick resolution. I go to the store and pick up a phone, refuse the shipment on Monday when FedEx shows up and the phone is sent back to Verizon. Problem solved right?
No, Verizon does not allow for that. Are you kidding me? The customer service rep said it would take "days" to resolve the problem in that manner. All he had to do is call the store, inform them I'm coming in. He said no, they will look up your order in the system, see it's in process and won't help me.
I am very upset. If a person orders a phone on Friday, Saturday or Sunday there is no way to have it delivered next day. WHY DIDN'T YOUR SYSTEM INFORM ME OF THAT WHEN I ORDERED THE PHONE???????????????????????
THAT'S YOUR FAULT SO IF YOU DON'T WANT TO FIX THAT, THEN WHY WON'T YOU ALLOW ME TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM BY PICKING UP THE PHONE FROM THE STORE?
I'm really not interested in your excuses and won't ready any response, I just need to vent and maybe you'll think about it.
Sincerely,
User1A

As just a customer myself, I figured out a long time ago that VZW processes orders on business days and there is a cutoff time on Friday where all orders received after that time is processed on the next business day. As for deliveries, VZW uses FedEx for their shipment method and they don't delivery on weekends or holidays unless you pay for the delivery surcharge for such a delivery. So a order created on Saturday is processed Monday or the next business day and shipped to the customer based on the shipping time method selected.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

How long will it take to ship my purchases?
It depends on which shipping option you select. The following shipment options are available for purchases placed online within the US only, excluding Alaska and Hawaii.
2-day shipping:
- Orders placed before 8 PM ET Monday - Friday, or before 2 PM ET on Saturday, excluding holidays, will be delivered in 2 business days
- Orders placed after 2 PM ET on Saturday, and before 8 PM ET on Monday will be delivered on Wednesday*
Overnight shipping:
- Orders placed by 11 PM ET Monday - Friday or before 2 PM ET on Saturday, excluding holidays, will be delivered by the next business day
- Orders placed after 2 PM ET on Saturday and before 11 PM ET on Monday will be delivered on Tuesday*
- Prepaid and accessory only orders must be ordered by 4 PM local time to qualify for same day shipping.
Any order placed after the current business day cutoff, will ship the following business day.

No, it's your fault for expecting a delivery on a Sunday. This isn't Amazon Prime.

Being without a device for any amount of time is a huge inconvenience, User1A. Having it stolen is very traumatic, and we know that our shipping options didn't meet your needs at the time. Regrettably, most shippers do not consider Sunday a business day, and that is why your order wouldn't have made it to you that day. Your feedback is very valuable regarding the inability to change your order to In-Store Pickup, as well as the estimated time-frames being confusing, and we will ensure it's lifted up. We apologize for any difficulty this has caused.
