No cell service during power outage

My wife and I both upgraded our phones last week. We went from an S9 and S10 to S22+ and S23 respectively.

Two days ago there was a power outage in our area and both of us lost cell signal. Inside, outside and I even drove around town trying to find signal. Others that I met around town had signal on T-Mobile and AT@T.  We have NEVER lost cell coverage during a power outage ever in all of our years of being  Verizon customers, and this is very concerning to us. Cell service returned when the power came back.

This is unacceptable and we're ready to dump Verizon and cut our losses. What is the solution for this issue?
