We just suffered through another power outage. Up and until a few months ago, when the power went out we could still use our 5G to contact the power company etc. During this outage today both our cell phones and my iPad would not work. The weird thing about this is, and I took screen shots, it shows that I have 3 bars. This is something new, that has only begun happening in the past 4 months or so. Last year, during power outages, I was able to continue to stay in contact with the electric company, maintain security and watch tv on my iPad with NO issues. Please call me and explain to me why this is happening now and how it can be corrected. I have had Verizon for a decade or more and I don’t want to change but will if you tell me that is the only way this can be corrected. Thank you.

We apologize for the inconvenience you have been through. Although we strive to keep our customers connected at all times. If there is a power outage in your area, the service on your device may be impacted was well. This depends on if the outage affected the cell site you were connected at the time of the outage. We recommend trying to turn your device off an on so that it can try and connect to a nearby cell site that may have not been impacted by the outage.

Thank you. I tried that with no luck. It does show that I am getting a good signal (3 bars) but it still won’t work. Again, this is fairly new. Last year this did NOT happen during outages.

We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience. Sometimes if an outage affects a cell site, it can cause this situation. Have you tried to reset the network settings on your device?
