What is up with Oregon, IL speeds in general. I checked the speedtest app and I got around 0.5 MB download and around 0.5 MB upload speed. This was tested at the Casey's General Store in town (even as I was driving as a passenger the houses there still had bad speeds nearly the same ones as I had tested at Casey's). Seriously ask someone from your Dixon or Byron, IL stores to drive down there to test the speeds and you will see I am correct. The funny thing is the signal strength is great too which makes no sense whatsoever. I bet this hasn't been fixed because no one spoke up yet since the town only has 3,800 people. Now I did the favor for them. Hopefully this gets fixed soon. I know a couple of things Verizon does in general because I have a Verizon Prepaid phone. One they like to lower speeds in business areas because obviously no one will use the mobile hotspot for stuff there due to free wifi existing. However that is not the case in Oregon, IL due to testing it on IL Route 64 throughout the town and there are houses along the road. The other thing Verizon likes to do is lower the speeds in rural spots where no houses exist. It is barely enough for certain apps to work and that is obviously going to make sense as people use phones at actual structures and not in the middle of a corn field for playing games. The ironic thing is nearby Mt Morris, IL has the most amazing speeds at the area 34 MB download and 34 MB upload. I think Oregon, IL should get those kinds of speeds too (that being 15+ MB download and upload speeds). Can this be fixed as soon as possible before 5G because thats such a fooler that there are nearby Verizon stores and yet theres barely any speeds. If you are also wondering Oregon, IL is close to Rockford, IL which is another reason to worry about this issue.

Bars do not have much to do with speed. That is signal strength. Also their is no standard to what the bars means. 4 bars on one phone can be 3 on another and 5 on another.
You could be having congestion issues. what plana re you on? Also did you test from ONE server. Speedtest result can vary form server to server and many severs are bad. You need to test form many servers
