I am truly convinced the overseas customer service reps lie to you in order for you to give them a good rating,.
I called Verizon CS on May 15 and asked if I transferred my boyfriends phone line from his parents Verizon account to my account, would that qualify as. a mew line and he’d get the promotion of a new iPhone 16. The rep said yes and my boyfriend was not available at the time so the rep said he would call me back the next day. That rep then sent me a text asking me to rate him on a scale of 1 to 5, and I gave him a 5.
The next day he never called back, so I called Verizon and spoke to a different rep named “Drix” who informed me, unfortunately, a Verizon to Verizon line transfer does not count as a new line and did not qualify for the promotion of the free phone. Understandable, I said ok and emded the call.
Drix then called me back 20 minutes later and said he spoke to a supervisor and because the first rep misinformed me they would still honor what the first rep said and give me a free iPhone 16 for a Verizon to Verizon phone transfer. he said the supervisor’s approval takes 24 to 48 hours and he would call me back in 48 hours. he then immediately sent me a text, asking me to rate him on a scale of one to five. I did not fill it out. And he also never called me back,
I then called the third time on May 17 and spoke to a rep named “Josh” who said they could see the supervisors note to honor a free iPhone 16 even if we were only doing a Verizon to Verizon account transfer. My boyfriend and I are very busy with work so I asked him to call me back in 48 hours and he did call back. We’ spent forever on the phone and did the line transfer and after the line transfer went through Josh informed me I would have to add an additional line to get that free iPhone 16. An additional line for who?? This rep completely changed their story after the line transfer. I asked for my boyfriend‘s phone line to be transferred back to his parents account, and I asked to speak to a supervisor.
I spoke to supervisor named “Harold,” who also told me they would not honor what Drix told me and Drix’s notes on my account “were not detailed”.. The supervisor then tried to talk me into getting an additional phone line, but putting it on one phone with my boyfriend‘s existing number in order to get a free iPhone 16. That doesn’t make the phone free I would still be paying for an additional line.
All reps sounded like overseas CS reps. Which is fine, but I truly believe they are providing misinformation in order to get good ratings or get sales. I wasted many days and many hours. I’ve been a Verizon customer for over 15 years because they give a good military discount, but now I am looking to switch over to T-Mobile because this was just beyond ridiculous.
