Person on the other end cannot hear me, but I hear them

Over the past six months, I have had this problem. I can hear the other person, but they cannot hear me. When the phone does work, it disconnects after about 30 minutes.

I have reset the phone, and I even purchased a new phone that is doing the same thing but is worse. I have tried everything. 

I will have to go to another carrier after having Verizon wireless for over ten years.  I have received no help.  I am sorry I turned in my phone last month for a new phone that still does not work.  I will not be able to get it back.   

This is so annoying.
