Poor 4G, now poor 5G

Moved into this neighborhood over 2 years ago, both my wife & I have had Verizon service for even longer. There was no problem with our reception, then out of nowhere around 2020, we only get 1 bar of 4G at home and calls are cutting out. My wife got a new S9 at the time...still the same problem. Now it's the middle of 2021 and I just upgraded to a Note 20 Ultra 5G, and guess what's happening!?!? Not even any bars of 5G, just 1 bar of 4G and cruddy reception. So being told it was my device is now ruled out. We live in the suburbs of Edmond, OK and a tower is down the street.

How do we fix this? Who do we call to fix this? We're ready to ditch Verizon at this point. I'm sitting at the neighborhood pool looking at my neighbors phones with plenty of bars from other carriers...it's ridiculous.

2020 is also when the pandemic happened and more people started straining the network.

JfamilyEmpire, we always want to provide the best possible service, so we're here to help! What zip code are you currently in? When you are outdoors, you're not receiving any signal as well? With the new phones, did you use the new SIM cards that came with them or the SIM cards that were in your old phone? AliciaD_VZW

73012 is the zip and same poor signal inside or outside our house. Also, no we that I've had this phone for a few weeks, I've noticed that 5G pops up as soon as we leave the neighborhood. Then upon returning...back to 1 bar of 4G. I got a brand new Sim Card with the phone as well. It feels like our neighborhood is in bad reception bubble for the tower or something. The crazy thing is that it used to not be like this...now it is. ๐Ÿ˜

I have exactly the same problem. Service has slowly degraded over time to the extent that there is almost no connectivity in my home areas.

Cavalier replies to our posts by customer service with assurances that Verizon, "Knows how frustrating it is to not have service" do not solve the problem.

My wife switched from Verizon to T-Mobile, as her new iphone would not even connect at out home...less than a mile from the nearest 5g tower.

  • I will be joining her soon, if I can't get better service

IPHONE 11.

zip code 77656

steps taken thus far

powercycled

reset network settings

changed all sort of other settings

reset phone

new sim card

new phone

even installed a cell booster at home

they have deleted my phone and re registered on the network.

I have spent so much time talking to Verizon level 2 tier support, at a minimum total of 20 hours

I have opened 5 network tickets (which are a cop out because they donโ€™t accomplish anything they all say that my area is โ€œmarginal serviceโ€)

Verizon is dropping the ball on their coverage and now losing a 17 year customer! When the tier 2 tech support agent told me what is Verizon tech support supposed to do that the network team can only work so fast and my area is marginal. Although every time you talk to someone new they have the miracle fix and tell you to see if that fixes the problem.

Not trying to sound like a Karen but itโ€™s utterly ridiculous and pointless to try and report bad service to Verizon.

Oh well att going to get a loyal customer
