I have been a Verizon customer for nearly 20 years. For most of that time, I have stuck with Verizon because the coverage was hands down the best.
Over the last 2 years, Verizon's coverage has gotten worse and worse. I live in the populous suburbs of Chicago, not in the stix. I work in a major government office, also in the suburbs. Yet, if I walk from one side of my house to another, I lose any call I'm on. My phone doesn't even ring sitting on my desk in my office.
And that's just voice coverage. At work, 6 out of 10 times I can't get anything better than a 1x data signal, let alone LTE. I may as well just use my phone as a paperweight during the day, and at home I have to go through my home's wi-fi to be able to do anything on it.
Verizon needs to resolve it's coverage issues quickly. It is about that time that I take my business somewhere else.

I 100% agree with this. I have put up with your high cost and arrogant “customer service” because of what used to be your unmatched reliability. The last two years trying to get bars or keep a call going has gotten worse and worse. Now that I’ve confirmed it’s not my older Apple X, I will consolidate to my better half’s AT&T account with unlimited data. Your current poor coverage is not worth your outrageous cost.

Same for 32040, 32063 and some areas in Duval County, FL. There is threads all over fb with same problems as I see here. Started pre Covid for me. Samsung s10 and S22. Tickets have been put in and was told follow ups would be done, nothing. Tower showed 23% traffic and it is within 3 miles. It is ridiculous and frustrating inside and outside buildings.

I live and work in the same areas as I always have. My coverage has continuously gotten worse over the past year. Calls are dropping, not being able to make calls, texts not coming through. My work tablet is also Verizon and has the same problems. I even upgraded my phone to see if that would help and that was a nightmare bc now all numbers that aren’t saved in my phone just say, “wireless caller” and I can’t see the number at all. I’m a nurse so I can’t tell if it’s a doctors office calling me or someone that can wait until I’m finished with what I’m doing. Verizon blames Apple. Apple blames Verizon. Finally Verizon said it’s a call filter that came pre installed on the phone that they can’t de activate, that apple put on their. But, the phone I had prior didn’t do it. So, I hate the new phone and the coverage.

Hearing that you're experiencing service issues in two zip codes in San Francisco, is very concerning, as Verizon has fantastic service coverage there. We apologize for your inconvenience and we'll do everything we can to get this resolved.
How long have you been experiencing service issues in both zip codes? Can you tell us which of your services is being affected? (e.g., calls, texting, web browsing, etc.) Is this happening while you're indoors, outdoors, or both?-Robert C.

I'll chime in here. I live in semi-rural central Florida. Had ATT and switched to Verizon about 6 weeks ago because coverage was better for us. Were on a prepaid month plan and things were pretty good. Switched to a regular 2 line post paid plan and now coverage and service is noticeably worse. What's going on? We are on a Galay s21 and an Iphone 11, so not old phones. Why would service decline after switching plans?? Not happy with the switch now.

We want you to have an excellent wireless experience with your postpaid plan as you did with your prepaid plan, aviva5675. You have fabulous devices and we are confident that we can improve your wireless service experience. What specific service is impacted (calls, text messages, data), and how?
What is the ZIP code, and the nearest street intersection to the trouble location?
Do you have a WiFi network available in the trouble location? -Antonio

WiFi doesn’t matter, we pay Verizon for service. So we shouldn’t HAVE to use WiFi in order to have service. I keep seeing that customer services replies ask about WiFi, but WIFi should not be needed in populated rural area like the majority of us are concerned about. WHAT IS VERIZON ACTUALLY DOING ABOUT THIS?

I have noticed the same issue, had a monthly plan and switched to unlimited and the service has downgraded. In addition, I have experienced the service quality decrease in the last months. Definitely, contemplating a switch to another provider that offers better service for a cheaper price.

I too live in central rural Florida. I’m in 34450 Inverness outside of city limits. My service use to be fine until around Jan 2022. If I go into the city the service is worse. I’m currently visiting 51501 Council Bluffs Iowa. I lived here since before cell phones existed. Service here use to be great, but now it’s HORRIBLE just like in Florida. I know 2 ppl who have T-Mobile, one has an iPhone the other an android & they have no issues. When I have to purchase Wifi to make my cell phone work its time to move on.

It is disheartening to hear about your service experience both at home and where you grew up. The last thing we would want is for you to have to move to another carrier. Have you checked in your device settings to ensure roaming is turned on? When is the last time you restarted your device?

I recently switched to Verizon from AT&T because I thought the service was better in my area with Verizon. So far, that has been far from the case. I have 2 phones, one I brought with me, a Pixel 6, and one bought at the Verizon store, a Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus. Both phones experience frequent drops in service, even in the city. I live near Chattanooga, TN and have issues even there. Both phones have had their SIM cards swapped twice, had their settings cleared and reprovisioned multiple times, and the poor signal issues keep happening. It's gotten to the point where I considering going back to AT&T. Their coverage wasn't great, but I never had the frequent dropped calls or inability to even make calls like I've had with Verizon.

I've been a customer for over 20 year as well. I have 6 lines.
I've had all of the chaos others have had since August 2021.
I've read dozens of comments.
The replies all seem like lip service?
I see no corrections.
The consensus of the people I know in my area that have verizon is the same as well. Dozens of new phones and old phones that have bad connectivity. Data links don't work.
Looks like I've got to change carriers.
If none of these other complaints haven't been resolved....I'm sure mine won't either.

I upgraded from a Note 10 (not 5G) to Note 20 Ultra 5G and have noticed a dramatic slow down of network services everywhere in the Louisville KY area. Some areas are absolutely horrible with 1x service (which is unusable). Even though the 5G is showing, a speed test will be 15MB or less.
Both at home and work, I live within 2-3 blocks of a cell tower. Sitting in my office now and using Network Cell Info Lite, I am getting a signal strength of -120 (which is in the RED). I'm connected with 1 itty bitty bar and I'm not roaming.
Don't suggest WiFi calling to me. I tried it. Works fine if you're sitting still and not going anywhere. But when you leave somewhere you're connected, the call drops. This is not a good solution for someone who is always on the move. I'm an IT tech, so I'm all over town, every day and connected to a wide variety of wireless networks (because I set them up).
For the past two years, cellular service in Louisville has gone downhill (as if you're driving a sled down a snow covered mountain). I test my speed almost everywhere I go. Places where I could get over 100mb on 5G, are now providing speeds in a fraction of that tested a year or more ago. Turning off 5G doesn't help. Changing bands does not help. Sitting on top of the tallest tower in town doesn't help.
FYI ... my employee is on T-Mobile now with his new Samsung phone. His service is a hundred times better than mine, and I've been paying Verizon over $350 a month for 15+ years for my devices. I cannot even recommend hotspots from Verizon anymore. They are so slow, it's unable to be used.
It might be time to consider changing services. Thankfully, I buy unlocked phones so I can go wherever I want. Verizon doesn't support 'unlocked' phones (unless it was made by the Apple God) and won't let you install Call Filter. That app works fine on the wife's iPhone 8, but not on my Note 20 Ultra because it's unlocked. Yep... it's time to switch to a company that actually cares for their customers and the quality of service they offer.

I live in the Florida Nature Coast Mid Western Fl 34609
My service has gotten spotty at best. Can not launch apps or google something when away from wi-fi. I have a fairly New Android 5g phone and can't even get service on 4g most of the time. If not for internet at home and work the phone would be worthless. This has gotten worse over the past year or more.
Certainly not worth what I am paying for.

this has probably been happening for about the last 8 months? I am not sure exactly, but I have little to no service in almost any building and almost total dead zones at my two primary locations - zip code 94117 - Buena Vista East and Duboce and my home 94116 - 19th Ave and Vicente. I have already enabled wifi assisted calling, and it is a poor solution because calls drop as I move from place to place in my house.
I have been trying to figure out why it is happening and I have been unsuccessful in finding a solution. It is not just my phone, but also my kids - so it is a larger problem than just me. My daughter works in real estate and she says she no longer has service in any home she goes to in San francisco. It is almost like the signal has gotten weaker everywhere.
