We have been Verizon customer since it was created from other cell phone carriers.
We were told that cell phone coverage in SC was poor, so we weren't too surprised.
We use wifi calling so it isn't a problem for the most part.
Recent complaints have nudged me to look at the issue again. In my house I have one bar. Looking at the SIM card status I see my signal strength at -115 dBm 25 asu. That IS low.
I looked at the coverage map and my area is colored as having 4G coverage, with 5G a few hundred yards east or west.
I have also heard that LMHH (Minto) turned down an offer to put a tower on the property. I have also heard that a new tower is proposed for South of the development.
What is Verizon doing to get decent coverage for LMHH, like the coverage at Sun City.

JGT,
We want to do all we can to make sure you have coverage you can rely on in your home area. We are not able to disclose proprietary information about future tower plans but we are happy to look into your current coverage experience. We are sending a Private Note to assist you.

Colin, John, and Ivone ,
I got PMs from each of you. However none of you three PMs had a way to reply to the message.
Please have someone go fix the messaging system so I can reply. And, no, I didn't miss the feature. I clicked on every option and NONE of them was "reply".
You asked me to expand on my situation.
I have moved into Latitude Margaritaville, Hilton Head, Hardeeville, SC.
We knew going in that coverage was poor. Since our phones can do wifi calling, I have not been concerned. However, the rising complaints in the community has convinced me to complain.
All carriers have poor coverage in this development. Dropped calls and missed calls are the norm.
I am a retired technical support engineer. I worked on enterprise and carrier grade products. I have also stay up on technology in general, so I am confident I know what I'm talking about. But also know I don't know all of it.
Thus, I know the signal strength shown at the top of the screen is not signal strength, but a general indicator of operations. An area with good signal strength and an overloaded base station will show fewer bars.
Most of the time I bother looking at the signal strength, I have one bar. I haven't made an effort to see if there is any place on property that has a better signal.
I looked at the coverage map for this area. Just to the east and west are 5G regions. I'm supposed to be in a 4G coverage. My phone reports one bar, the Sim card status reports signal strength as -120 dBm 19 asu and the network type is LTE.
My phone is a Samsung Z flip 4. It is current on updates and patches. I have restarted the phone and see no change in signal reporting.
My individual situation is inconvenienced when I am away from a wifi I can connect to, by missed calls and delayed txt messages.
