We are long-time and very happy Verizon Wireless customers. We used to live in Washington DC, where service quality is superb. We’ve recently relocated to Telluride Colorado and have been very disappointed. Data services in most of the ski mountain are poor to nonexistent, as they are anywhere outside of the Telluride / Mountain Village core.
I’ve come to expect to pay a premium price for premium service at Verizon and that is not what we are getting in this part of Colorado. Before we consider switching carriers, is there someone we can speak with about plans for improving coverage here?

Since cellular service is based on radio transmissions, mountainous areas such as Colorado may and will have spotty or no service. There is no way around that. The higher frequencies used for cellular are pretty much line of site and do not bend or bounce off or penetrate buildings, hills, mountains etc. The lay of the land in Washington DC offers better reception and probably has more transmitters considering the federal government is based there.
Also, it is recommended to avoid posting your private info on this forum, such as full name or phone number.

It’s now been a year and the service quality has not improved. I’m going to get at ATT phone and compare the two services. If ATT is better I’m afraid you will have lost a customer

Agree, I’ve been a Verizon customer living in Telluride for 20 years. Used to be great now nearly unusable in ski area. Could not even send or receive texts anywhere on ski mountain today. Nothing to do with line of site, lack of investment by Verizon is the cause. TMobile and ATT users have no issues. I would highly recommend avoiding Verizon here.
