Poor coverage

I have been a Verizon customer for nearly 20 years.  For most of that time, I have stuck with Verizon because the coverage was hands down the best.

Over the last 2 years, Verizon's coverage has gotten worse and worse.  I live in the north central Massachusetts. I get poor coverage at home in Groton, and now no coverage at all in the center of Townsend where I work . All the other Verizon customers at work have the same problem so it isn’t just me or my phone. One colleague switched to T mobile this week to try to get decent service. The rest of us will follow soon if we can’t get service on the Verizon network.

Before anything, thanks for your 20 years of loyalty to the company; we truly appreciate your business. Dealing with coverage issues can be frustrating, especially if it keeps getting worse and worse. We are here to help. Please elaborate, what exactly happens when you attempt to use the service (calls/texts/data)? What recent changes have you made (relocated, phone upgrade, software update, etc.)?

Nothing happens. I can’t get internet data or make calls in Townsend. No equipment changes, and besides the ten people I work with who have Verizon have the same problem. Have you degraded your network?

No response? Is there nothing Verizon can do to fix our service?

We appreciate the information and we definitely want to work through this. There's some extra troubleshooting that we can do. You can find the recommended troubleshooting here: https://www.verizon.com/support/apple-iphone-se-troubleshooting/ Please select the "Connection issues, fluctuating signal" option. Let us know if you notice any improvement.

I tried but no difference

Three of us sitting together with three different phone models, two iPhones and one Samsung, and we all have the same problem- three bars of service but nothing works. No internet , no apps, no texts, no email. Don’t you think the problem is on Verizon’s end?

my nephew who is wit us just switched to T Mobile. We’ll see if that solves the problem.

Troubleshooting steps didn’t help. The problem is with your network, not our phones.

Four of us got together and tried to connect on internet or on apps. Three had iPhones (one SE and two 16’s) and one had a Samsung phone, all with Verizon. None of us could connect on any data - the wheel spins then says no service- but could get phone calls.

Next week when my nephew switches from Verizon to T mobile we’ll see if he gets better service.

can you fix our service?

Why did you take this issue thread private? Now I have no idea if the issue was resolved. This issue is also happening in Gill/Northfield Massachusetts.

My child depends on use of cell service to complete school work late at night. Child complained 8.31.2023 that  nothing works and said their friends who have T-mobile have their hot-spot and can get internet and make calls. Child has asked that  I change our plan to T-mobile. I too have been with Verizon for probably 20 years.
there have been no changes to the phone since last school year. Same iPhone 12. It only has updates that have been pushed by apple (all up to date).

Same issue.  In Townsend especially.  Customer over 20 years.  Bell Atlantic days. Move to Townsend 3 years ago and nothing but bad luck with service.  Few different phones

Have 3 personal lines (family) and 2 buisness lines.  All do same.  No signal.. everyone I talk to in town that has Verizon says it stinks.  About to switch company's.  What's the point of having a phone if it don't ring?

I live in East Longmeadow, MA (ZIP 01028) and our signal strength from wherever the nearest tower is is absolutely abysmal.  We get dropped calls, etc and, for a company like Verizon, with all of its resources available to provide reliably consistent coverage, especially in one of the most densely-populated areas of the country, the Northeast United States/Southern New England, is at once both maddening and completely avoidable.

Both my wife (I-Phone 13 pro) and I (Pixel 4a) experience the same barely-usable signal levels at our home and have for years now.

I have noticed that, in the past two years or so, Verizon has installed a couple of mini-towers on the telephone poles that line Route 83 here in town, located about a mile apart from each other.

Every time we drive past one of these mini-towers, the signal strength on both of our phones jumps to 100%, before dropping back to near-zero as we approach our home.

What would I need to do to contact Verizon and request that a mini-tower be installed somewhere nearby to give us the signal quality that we’re paying for, but not getting?

I live in Duluth MN and have usually had good coverage.  I’ve been a customer for 18 years.  Bought a cabin 25 Miles NE of Duluth and get horrible coverage.  Because we are there a lot I’m thinking of switching providers.  Our At&t neighbors have no issues.
