Possible to pay upcharge for ad-free Hulu?

My plan includes ad-supported Hulu. If there is an option to pay an upcharge to get the ad-free version of Hulu, can someone point me to it? If this is not an option it is a feature that Verizon should consider offering.

Let me get you  real answer that's actually helpful.

Look at #6 under Existing Disney+, Hulu, or ESPN+ subscribers

I appreciate the link and the direction. Following the recommended instruction (I was previously a Hulu subscribe prior to enrolling in this plan) I reached out to Hulu customer support as I was unable to add-on the service myself. The customer service rep told me that Verizon is blocking him from making any changes to my account, and suggested the steps I could take are:

- Cancel the bundled service through Verizon

- Re-enroll directly through Hulu

- Go back to the Verizon website and add the package back to my plan again.

I am hesitant to doing this, but if I do so I will reply with the results.

Thanks
Bob

I did the same thing.  But after hours on the phone with Verizon, and Hulu...here is what I was told.  If you upgrade to Hulu NO ads, then Verizon does not pay the $5.99 for Hulu, and Hulu bills you $11.99/month.  Why could I just not pay the $6 upgrade to no ads?  Seems like false advertising on Verizon's part..I think Verizon owes me a refund of $5.99 per month to make it right.

Think I solved it. I found this in a post.

Mine was not recalculating to only $6 so I entered disney+ website and inside the account I clicked at the HULU in the "My Disney Services" and it recalculated the discount.  SO I only pay for the no-ads updgrade.

CRTX, yes, it sounds like you have completed it properly and successfully. Thank you so much for the update and please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks so much for posting this. I was getting frustrated in thinking I was stuck with the ad supported version. It just kept sending me back and forth between Disney and Verizon, so glad I came across this thread, much rather pay 6 dollars than being stuck paying 11

We want you to get the No-Ads Option at just the additional cost. Here's instructions for setting that up: https://www.verizon.com/support/disney-bundle-faqs/#hulu-live.

I would like to preface with once I typed all of this out and hit "Post" I was redirected to the login page for Verizon and lost my entire message. This is LOADS of fun!

If only it was this simple. I canceled all of my accounts and then Hulu account page said I had to wait to make any changes until billing cycle ended for Disney on June 1 (today is May 13).

To get my Hulu upgrade I had to:

  1. Cancel Disney+ through Verizon
  2. Cancel Disney+ through Disney
  3. Then my Hulu account said "no changes until June 1"
  4. Call Disney to get my account "refreshed"
  5. Subscribe to Hulu No Ads
  6. Subscribe to Disney+ through Verizon

I would like to note that my experience with Disney+ customer service was excellent and painless. I was concerned because my Hulu account says $11.99/mo, but the Disney rep confirmed I would pay only $6 for the upgrade, and $7.99 for Disney+.

It's a little silly it's this difficult to pay someone more money! Many people would never be able to figure this out.

I will be 100% honest.  I try not to reward bad behavior/poor design.  I dont need Hulu or disney+.  I figured initially if I could get them lumped together it was worth the cost but if to get the ad free exp I have to jump through these hoops verizon will just lose this $10 extra I pay a month.  They should have made it far more simple.  Zero excuses for this kind of non-sense.

I apologize for any negative feeling you had as a result of  needing to pay for the Add free experience with Hulu, ThatMattguy. Let me help you with your concerns of needing to pay extra for the no Add content. The Hulu subscription that is  with the Disney Bundle package being for free based on your paid does have it with the promotion with the bundle. However, if you elect to want the Add free experience, this does come with a cost to subsidize the feature with that benefit. We provide that information upfront on your website so those who wish to elect to have that option are aware of the cost related. Here's a link for your review and please scroll down to the section https://www.verizon.com/support/disney-bundle-faqs/ at the link   https://www.verizon.com/support/disney-bundle-faqs/   . Are you still interested in accepting that offer that everyone else has the same option to enjoy Hulu with no ads?

I trust that this clarifies things to where you see the same choice is available to you as so many others accept the upgrade benefit.

Sincerely,

Is there any chance Verizon will work with Hulu and fix this so that ANY Verizon customer (not just those who had the Disney bundle before) who has Verizon's Disney bundle can log on to their Verizon account, check a box that says "upgrade to no-ads version of Hulu" and have the $6.00/mo added to their Verizon bill? This seems like a missed opportunity for both Verizon and Hulu. Hulu is missing out on $6/mo from a large number of users, and causing frustration with Hulu because users have to watch ads and cannot download Hulu shows to watch offline (e.g. on an airplane), possibly causing them to give up on watching Hulu altogether. For Verizon, they are alienating a large group of customers who were told when they upgraded to 5G (which added $10/mo/user to their Verizon bill) that they get the Disney bundle for free, only to find there's a huge catch: when you watch Hulu you have to sit through more ads than network TV, and you cannot download the Hulu content to watch it offline. There must be a solution.

Hi!  You did this and didn't have problems re-subscribing to Disney+ right?  I'm worried I'm going to cancel in order to upgrade Hulu and then not be able to re-subscribe.  I was chatting with a Verizon rep and they just stopped answering so I thought this thread might be more helpful!

It took more time to research but, when comfortable I figured it out, it took a couple minutes only to complete.

1. Cancel Disney bundle in Verizon

2. Sign-up for the $11.99 ad-free Hulu directly on Hulu's website, I used the same email address as I use for Verizon.

3. Re-activate Disney bundle in Verizon

4. At this time, Hulu was still showing their charge at $11.99 per month.  I then went to the Disney+ website and chose the manage account function.  From this page, click on Hulu and activate Hulu as part of the bundled package.  (I also did the same for ESPN+)

5. Returned to Hulu and Hulu now shows their monthly charge at $6.  Done.

This is it right here! Just did this and my next charge for Hulu(no ads) is only $6.  Thank you!

CRTX, help is here as we always want to be respectful of your time as dealing with this for hours is unacceptable. Help is here. If you had The Disney Bundle through Hulu or have already subscribed to Hulu (with Ads) and used the same email address you use for Hulu for The Disney Bundle, you can sign up for Hulu add-ons at any time through hulu.com/account or via Hulu Customer Service. Your Hulu bill will be credited for The Disney Bundle or Hulu subscription, depending on the service to which you previously subscribed.

For more information, please see the link provided, reference the header, 'Existing Disney +, Hulu, or ESPN+ subscribers'. See #6. Can I upgrade Hulu in my Disney Bundle to Hulu (No Ads)?

This is not true. Hulu says Verizon manages the account on this website. Hulu redirects patrons to Verizon’s website.
