After the june update I noticed the option to switch between Network types LTE and 5G under preferred network is missing. Is this a common issue now after the june update or did Verizon decide to lock it out?

I have the exact same issue on my Pixel 7 Pro. My area has terrible 5G coverage as well so my phone is now basically useless while moving around. It constantly goes from 5G to UW or LTE disconnecting anything I'm doing from time to time.
It's actually listed in the new update for Verizon: https://www.verizon.com/support/google-pixel-7-update/
But not in the Google update: https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/220747201/google-pixel-update-june-2023?hl=en
So this is something Verizon added into the update.
I basically now have a mobile device that doesn't work when mobile.

It appears to be an issue on AT&t and T-Mobile as well

I switched to T-Mobile and was instantly able to choose between 5G and LTE again. So it's not an issue for me. Not sure about AT&T.

I also have this problem with my pixel 6 and pixel 7. Verizon needs to give the option back to choose our network, why would they purposefully take away our choice?

I was told Verizon is pushing 5G only so the option probably would not be coming back. My wife and I started moving to another network this morning. What a joke.

Open Dialer and press *#*#4636#"#*
Choose (Phone Information)
Select (Preferred Network Type)
Choose (NR/LTE)
NR is 5G. Any other options that currently show when as selected. Say CDMA, GSM etc, select the NR/LTE option with those current options following. Basically it will be in order of preferred networks ๐
