Re: VERIZON SALES REPRESENTATIVE

I got the same treatment here in Greenwich CT. Went to buy an iphone, they told the ipad was for free. I told them I didn’t need an ipad, they confirmed that was for free so I took it. I now have 10$ to pay every month on my bill that I didn’t agree to. I asked the sales rep to cancel the line and they said that if I cancel I have to pay $456.75 for an ipad I never wanted. This problem needs to be solved now, it is horrific they way you are tricking loyal customers.

I had gotten three new lines with three new iPhone 15s that are supposed to be zero dollars for 36 months and my estimated bill was like $700 so I called and the lady had gone on to tell me that the first bill that you get they charge you for two months and then you pay every month and I said why why did they do that and she said that’s just the way it set up this is not something they ever told me about this is not something that was in writing And I was just completely shocked because you know my original bills like 250 so you’re telling me I have to pay $500 and why I still don’t have an answer till because even if I end service so you gonna keep that extra month I paid you. It’s very confusing very misleading. Nobody told me

Furthermore, I was told that the promotion doesn’t kick in for a month or two, and then they credit back your account which I don’t understand why they ever would do that, but OK, and then there was just several things that when I had ordered online, it was not what the lady was telling me on the phone, and all sudden that I was in contract everything changed and I’m just completely shocked that our phone company can do that and I’m saying we’re not allowed to break contract and neither should that’s breaking contract you misleading us however, you wanna call it your dishonesty cause now we’re locked into a contract. We got three iPhones you know and at home Internet I’m already $300 in what am I gonna do? I know it’s not that easy to cancel  And I got two kids that really wanted these iPhones. It looks like Verizon is a well-known company and you know they get money so I don’t understand why they feel it’s necessary to do this to their customers are spending you know a good amount of money with them every month

That's how the device payment agreement promotions work.  There is a charge for the regular monthly payment and then a credit for the amount it was discounted.  It can take a month or two for the credits to be applied and they will retroactively apply the credits for the monthly device payments you had be previously charged.  I have seen it occur for all of the device payment agreements I have had with Verizon.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

We were also misled by sales person omitting information & neglecting to tell us about all of the charges. Here is our experience:

We traded in our old iPhones & an iWatch for upgrade. We told the associate we wanted to pay for the phones up front instead of pay monthly. He calculated the amount & gave us the total. Asked if we wanted separate line for the iWatch which we declined. After paying over $500, I get my bill & we are being charged monthly fee for phones & given a new line for the iWatch. There were multiple fees on the original bill that we were never told about, such as $50 to transfer our info to new phones & $35 per phone because we got new ones?? And exorbitant tax fees. When I called Verizon originally I was promised that they would give me a monthly discount. Did not see it on my bill so called back & no one knew about a discount. Plus was told a line was required to get the promo on the Watch which we were never told. Would have gotten the iWatch some place else if I had known. Verizon refuses to remove extra line unless the iWatch is paid in full for & refuses to reimburse any of the fees even though we were never told about them. Now I am stuck with a line I didn’t want & a bunch of ridiculous fees! I can’t change providers until the phones are paid off. Customer for almost 20 years & this is how they treat you!!
