SOS Mode Issue

As of yesterday at 5pm EST, mine and my husband’s iPhones keep entering SOS mode, dropping calls “Call Failed”, can’t answer incoming calls or they go straight to voicemail.  I’m not happy Verizon and I am looking for an immediate resolution, not a bandaid.

The issues started the moment I pulled into my driveway yesterday 21SEP2023 at 5pm EST.  I was on a call, it dropped out of nowhere & my phone went into SOS mode.  My husband got home & he had the same issue.  We updated our phones to iOS 17, thinking that may be the issue, but the issue has continued through the day today.  We haven’t been able to make any outgoing calls- all fail.  Incoming calls won’t connect and the caller ultimately hangs up or calls go directly to voicemail & we don’t know we had a call until we get a voicemail alert pop up.  We even tried switching our settings to WiFi calls and still cannot get them to go through.
