Samsung/Askey LTE Extender Access Options in MyVerizon

Hi there @Nilsa_VZ ,

Is there any update on the fix for the LTE Network Extender Access Type/Access List options in MyVerizon? There is a quite of history of this problem discussed on this platform. It was noted on post# 1753135 in May 2024 that your team was able to replicate the issue and the development team would work towards a fix.  However, it has been almost a year later and we customers are still no closer to manage those settings.

Background:

Users are experiencing the following conditions -

1)  The "Edit" option links for Access Type/Access List in MyVerizon doesn't function correctly and reports errors "The first number you add to the list must be from your account. "Your changes cannot be saved due to system error. Please try again later", "We’re experiencing a system issue and we’re unable to process your request. Please call us at 1.800.VERIZON for assistance." (Moreover, for those that have the Askey model the "Devices" displays the Samsung model picture rather than the Askey which actually shows correct model picture on the Manage Extender page but the model is blank-supposed to show sFemto3)

2) The "Edit" option links for Access Type/Access List are totally missing from the Manage Extender page

Given the above, the FAQ article linked from the Manage Extender page still talks about the agility to manage those access settings.

Please advise.

Hello Fdbk, we can take a further look into this matter with you. We just want to verify, are you referring to adding cpmtacts? -Dee

Hi Dee,

Yes: Contacts & Modes (https://www.verizon.com/support/4g-lte-network-extender-faqs/

I have both the Samsung sFemto2 (SLS-BU10G) and the Askey sFemto3 (ASK-SFE116) and neither Access Type and Access List work or totally missing the Edit options. This is a known problem.

When I was using the Samsung last year it showed on the Manage page the model as sFemto2 and the "Edit" options were visible but not functional persistent system errors (it used to work before 2024 to some degree). As a troubleshooting step, support sent in Jan out the latest Askey sFemto3 model but encountered the same issue with the Askey therefor a AYS ticket was raised and after being worked team mentioned that you can't have two extenders on the account and they removed the Samsung model as led to believed that was the issue causing it.  As the issue still remained with the Askey a AYS ticket was raised and after being worked, the Askey became stuck in closed mode with no contacts. As a troubleshooting method, the extender was removed from the account and added back that allowed the extender in open mode but the "Edit" options no longer appeared and model blank on the Manage page. Another attempt was made to remove from the account and add back but no change.  Another AYS ticket was raised but that has been in a Pending status for some time and the agent didn't expect an definitive answer from the team.  Moreover, the "Devices" section in MyVerizon website displays the incorrect model image (shows the Samsung instead of the Askey) while the Manage page shows the correct model image but the model is blank and the Edit options aren't visible.  This model image discrepancy happens no matter how many times you remove and add the extender to the account. I have observed in MyVerizon where if the device model and/or picture is blank, certain options/features are not visible until that device is fully added in Verizon systems. Since that time, there has been multiple AYS tickets raised since Jan for this issue but nowhere to being resolved.

Additionally, the ”My devices” link on the Manage Network Extender page when clicked takes you to an error page that states “You are not authorized to perform this action.” However, you can manually click the back browser button to go back to the 'Devices' page (previous page) or select any actions in the header on the error page fine to take you to MyVerizon.

I don't have any Verizon network extenders at all, but I'm here a lot and am fairly certain one of the other forum regulars who does have an extender and has used several over the years has mentioned the Samsung extender is now obsolete.
