I just got a phone call from my phone number on my phone, when I answered there was a recording saying my account was suspended and to push 1 to confirm information or 2 to disconnect.
What is going on?

We understand receiving a call informing you that your account has been suspended can cause concern, and we are here to help. What's the number that made this call? Did they ask you to provide information about your account? Have you received this call multiple times?

It's a restricted number they call people with. Push one to enter your account pin. Or you can hit 2 for a representative, but its just hold music. They call MANY times a day claiming to be Verizon and it's majorly aggravating !!!!!

Susan71, these are spam calls. We are terribly sorry to read that you've been having this problem. We are working with the FCC to stop these calls. The good news is that we have a free service called Call Filter which will help you identify spam calls in the future. Here is link with more information: https://www.verizonwireless.com/solutions-and-services/call-filter/

11/17/2020, 2:13 PM, MST, rec'd a scam call from 303.718.1488. This was a recording stating we will be receiving an interruption in our utilities in the next 45 min to 1 hour due to our account being delinquent, which is it not. I'm sure they probably spoofed the called ID number. When is Verizon going to stop these calls I am CONSTANTLY receiving? If there's technology to spoof a number, then there must be technology to know what the real number actually is and block it for Verizon customers. My fear is someone is going to get scammed with this type of call. I hung up right away & did not push any numbers, but if it's not this one today, it's a recording saying my vehicle warranty is about to expire (it's not) or a call from "credit card services" offering to reduce my interest rate (I have rec'd this kind of call from various numbers for well over 10 years & it's getting old)! I am in sales & SHOULD be answering my phone, but don't most of the time because I'm either getting calls from scammers, spammers or solicitors. PLEASE do something about all of this!

There are various forms to these scam calls press one to be removed from our calling list etc. Which will not stop the calls as for your form as the others it just confirms your number work and active as for verizon doing something doesn't seem likely as others report scam calls or robocall myself included and all you get is same scripted reply beyond there push for there call filter , the tell you to register to the FTC do not call, they don't filter calls I.e don't stop your scam calls, they say change your number which just gets you a recycled number if that was fix than why has there been a increase according to the FCC I.e people move etc get new numbers they have as do all carriers a mandate from FCC and the traced act to stop these calls

Your privacy and account security are extremely important, we will never reach out to you asking for your account details, you did the right thing by inquiring about the call, we recommend not to share your account or personal details in a similar situation. Pam
