Service in Freeport Maine

Absolutely awful LTE/4G service despite having 3-4 bars  cellular reception. Why is it so bad here. Very poor show from Verizon. Spent 5 hrs there and not a scrap of data coverage. Had to keep jumping on to work hotspots to get any messages thru.

I depend on my device on a daily basis, so I know how important it is to have your service working at all times. Could you tell us when did this problem start? What issues are you having specifically?

This has been going on for well over a year now. It is so bad you can't do anything on your phone in downtown Freeport, ME.

It's worrying to see your service is not working up to your expectations, and we will be glad to provide you with the correct solution. Please tell us, does this happen during specific times of the day? Does this happen while being indoors or outdoors? Is this impacting multiple devices? ~Geo

It is every day. Inside and outside. Anyone living in or visiting Freeport, ME will tell you - It is impossible to make calls, use data, receive calls, etc. One quick trip to Freeport and your team will know instantly. It's horrible.

Freeport is the second most visited place in Maine. But, it's not due to demand. It's the same winter and summer. That said, that means you have a lot of unhappy visitors and residents.

Completely agree- as a Freeport resident, I have come to expect poor service but it is finally becoming a bigger issue in my mind. My wife cannot get ahold of me when I run basic errands downtown, and when driving through on the highway calls cut out even when showing 3 bars or so.

How is this still a problem? I don't run into this literally anywhere else. Just show me as having no signal if there is no viable connection. Teasing me with 3 bars but having "no internet connection" is pretty frustrating.

Don’t be fooled. This response makes it seem like they will do something. They will spend at least an hour of your time on the phone telling you that the reason the service is bad is because we are so close to the water or there are so many people in the town. They will not help. Do not waste your time.

I have the same issue, every time I’ve been in Freeport Maine I cannot access data, I just get the twirly loading circle of death.  Doesn’t matter if I’m inside or out.  I’m on Main Street smack dab in the middle of downtown or just south of it.  No idea if I can make calls, haven’t tried as I can’t even get Verizon app to load up to tell me a contact number.   I’ve been down there more frequently recently due to business, and it is crippling not having data access.  I have 2 to full bars depending on where I am at and it shows LTE connection. But no data not until I drive out of the area on my way home will it start working again, though I’m not sure where that boundary is.  If this includes no texts or calls this is very dangerous for me as I am a physician and my clinic/hospital need to be able to reach me when I’m on call.  I rely on those bars and LTE status to tell me that my phone is in range and able to get service.

I live in Oakland Maine so frequent Freeport often.  The Verizon LTE service has been terrible/ non existent for many years.  I’ve been a Verizon customer for over 10 years and considering going to a competitor.  It’s not just Freeport now either.  Old Orchard Beach, Scarborough, many towns along the southern coast of Maine— literally no LTE service, even with 2 to 4 bars of cell service.

OOB, no service last year or this!  Can’t even use the pay for parking app for the town, and there are no meters! So would Verizon be responsible for my parking tickets then?

We don't want you to be without service no matter where you are, and we're going to make sure you don't keep having issues. When did you start having problems with service in Freeport? Did any other Verizon devices have the same issue?
