My phone keeps going into SOS mode randomly. I shut it down and restart at least 10tines a week and sometime that doesn’t help. I am paying for Verizon service but am unable to be serviced. It has recently been happening more than usual. None of the fixes work other than shutting phone and restart and cross your fingers it works and I don’t have to wait hours.

When you do have service, is your signal strength weak?  That's a common cause of going into SOS mode a lot, because your device is then constantly struggling to stay connected.  If other people in your area have the same problem, then Verizon isn't very good where you are and it's time to port.

A rarer cause for this issue can be if your phone isn't a Verizon model and therefore doesn't like something in the Verizon network.  I would have sworn a certain competitor didn't work in my apartment complex because my phone never got decent signal anywhere I checked unless I was outside when I tried their service a few months ago.  But 2 days ago, was in the gym and someone else's phone rang with a particular distinctive sound, and they were obviously able to be on the call OK...
