I’ve also just recently switched to Verizon and been receiving an exorbitant amount of spam calls and phishing messages.
Verizon, you guys sell our numbers to scammers, don’t you? How else would this make sense? You do it to push your call filter.
Myself and my fiancé have been experiencing this.

Sagea, we're disheartened to learn that you keep receiving unwanted calls and messages. I'm not a fan of these either. Robocalls and spam messages are something that unfortunately is becoming way too common. These robocalls are not affiliated in any way with Verizon Wireless as we would never sell numbers since that is illegal and goes against our policy. Our Verizon Call Filter ( http://spr.ly/6183DN185 ) is a great app at recognizing/screening unwanted calls. We do have some other recommendations that may curb the annoying calls. We suggest that you register on the National Do Not Call Registry http://spr.ly/6189D2hJf. If you are not having success with our Call Filter feature, you can look for a possible 3rd party app that may have the blocking/screening capabilities that you're looking for. One other thing you may want to do is file a complaint with the FCC. Here's their link http://spr.ly/6189D2huD. Lastly, I know that changing your number isn't the most favorable option, but it might be something to consider. You can do that for free right from your My Verizon account http://spr.ly/6180D2hJA. I am confident that at least one of my suggestions will help.

I switched earlier this week (1/11/22) from google fi to verizon, and I'm now getting 2-3 spam calls a day where I was only getting 2-3 per month with google. Due to the work I do, I actually answer my phone when it rings, and I take a lot of calls from new to me numbers, so I have to pick up. It stinks.
Verizon is not doing enough to block spam calls, and if their idea of fixing it is to make users report each instance, they are a joke. Thank god I signed up for a month to month prepaid plan, and can jump ship easy enough

Apollo704 I'm sorry you are getting so many SPAM calls. We would all like for them to stop. There is no way to know if the call is a SPAM but you can certainly register for the Verizon Call Filter. Here is the link. https://espanol.verizon.com/support/how-to-use-call-filter/ It won't solve the issue but it sure will help. -Dolores

I have had the same phone number since 1993 AND have been a longtime Verizon customer. My issue came when I updated to a new phone a week ago and ported the number over I now get constant spam calls daily. Yes, I am signed up for your spam filter and registered at the the do not call registry in 2005. I have never seen anything like this. I will be looking for a third-party app to try to manage this. No response needed, as I see nothing to help here and no, I won't change the number.

We're sorry to hear spam calls have increased since you switched to Verizon. We know what a nuisance they can be. Have you had the opportunity to download and install the Verizon Call Filter app? This link will provide step-by-step instructions on how to set it up:https://www.verizon.com/support/how-to-use-call-filter/
