Spams calls increased dramatically since switching to Verizon

we switched our family plan to Verizon recently and we have been getting spam calls several times through out the day. All calls come from the same area code. I have read through some of the older posts on this topic and followed the suggestions provided but nothing has helped. I am considering my last resort option of switching back to my previous provider even though they don't have the same level of coverage in my area. Any other suggestions? are others still experiencing this issue?
