My wife and I have a family plan that will go off contract in 1 month. We would like to split the family plan w/unlimited data into two plans. Will the unlimited data carry over with the two individual plans? Also, I want to stay with Verizon and upgrade my device at the end of my contact and keep my unlimited data. Will my upgrade eligibility be affected when we split the plans?

As for losing the unlimited data when splitting the plan, you shouldn't. But I would definitely, call and confirm.
Now to come off a plan and move to your own, that MAY add a year to your current contract. This is based on the AOL info page. But I do not know if it is only when bring a phone into an account or also when one leaves and starts a new account.

Hello noclue41,
I am glad that you are going to continue your service with us! I can confirm that at this time you will be able to keep your current data plan if you are on the $29.99 Unlimited plan for Smartphones or Basic phones. If the unlimited feature is built into the plan like our old Connect or Premium plans, you will have to choose from a current usage based option. Also, your upgrade eligibility will not be affected by the transfer of service. I would be glad to answer any additional questions, if needed.
Thank You,
