Suspending Account for Security Purposes

I just received a call from my area code with a recorded message that my account will be suspended for security purposes. I selected the option for more information and was put on "music" hold before deciding this seemed a bit odd and hung up. Anyone else have an issue like this?

Thank you for reaching out. We are happy to read that you decided to hang up the call. Verizon Wireless would never call you to advise that your account would be suspended. Anytime that you get a call or recieve a message like this please do not respond. You can reach out to us and we can verify if the message originalted from us or if any action needs to be taken on the account. How does that sound? ~Roger
