Switch-in issue

The only reason why I switch was for the promotion from leaving my carrier for Verizon. That i would receive the free phones. This is my second month my second bill. And I am now just wondering why I am paying for these devices. And made me turn in my old devices. If this was going to be the case I could have turned in my old phones to my old carrier. Verizon was supposed to take care of the bill to pay the phones off. I am now getting charged from AT&t. To me it seems like they just used my credit. To get me the phones. Three lines and a Wi-Fi service that they convince me to get. I paid $255 for three lines and Wi-Fi. And now I need to pay $10 to speak to somebody.
